Protective Efficacy of a Chimeric Pestivirus KD26_E2LOM Vaccine Against Classical Swine Fever Virus Infection of Pigs

open access: yesViruses
A chimeric pestivirus KD26_E2LOM strain can induce antibodies that can be partially distinguished from antibodies from classical swine fever virus (CSFV) infection.

Population Analysis of Iranian Potato virus Y Isolates Using Complete Genome Sequence

open access: yesThe Plant Pathology Journal, 2016
In this study, the full-length nucleotide sequences of four Iranian PVY isolates belonging to PVYN strain were determined. The genome of Iranian PVY isolates were 9,703–9,707 nucleotides long encoding all potyviral cistrons including P1, HC-Pro, P3, 6K1,

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Influence of retinoblastoma-related gene silencing on the initiation of DNA replication by African cassava mosaic virus Rep in cells of mature leaves in Nicotiana benthamiana plants [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Background Geminiviruses mainly infect terminally differentiated tissues and cells in plants. They need to reprogramme host cellular machinery for DNA replication.

Integrated molecular and serological diagnostics for surveillance of the quarantine virus tomato brown rugose fruit virus

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum
Background: The tomato brown rugose fruit virus (Tobamovirus fructirugosum, ToBRFV) is an emerging tobamovirus that has quickly become a significant obstacle to the production of tomatoes and peppers worldwide.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Distribution and diversity of Potato mop-top virus in Sweden [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
During the last decades, spraing disease caused by Potato mop-top virus (PMTV) has become a severe problem in the potato production throughout the Nordic countries.

Plant virus replication and movement

open access: yesVirology, 2015
Replication and intercellular spread of viruses depend on host mechanisms supporting the formation, transport and turnover of functional complexes between viral genomes, virus-encoded products and cellular factors. To enhance these processes, viruses assemble and replicate in membrane-associated complexes that may develop into "virus factories" or ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Diversity of Plant Virus Populations. A Valuable Tool for Epidemiological Studies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Plant viruses, as any other living organisms, differ genetically from each other as a result of processes (such as mutation, recombination and other forms of genetic exchange) that generate genetic variation in each generation during their reproduction ...
