Recent Advances on the Multiplex Molecular Detection of Plant Viruses and Viroids

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2018
Plant viruses are still one of the main contributors to economic losses in agriculture. It has been estimated that plant viruses can cause as much as 50 billion euros loss worldwide, per year.

Single‐cell insights into the role of T cells in B‐cell malignancies

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Single‐cell technologies have transformed our understanding of T cell–tumor cell interactions in B‐cell malignancies, revealing new T‐cell subsets, functional states, and immune evasion mechanisms. This Review synthesizes these findings, highlighting the roles of T cells in pathogenesis, progression, and therapy response, and underscoring their ...

Cyclic nucleotide signaling as a drug target in retinitis pigmentosa

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Disruptions in cGMP and cAMP signaling can contribute to retinal dysfunction and photoreceptor loss in retinitis pigmentosa. This perspective examines the mechanisms and evaluates emerging evidence on targeting these pathways as a potential therapeutic strategy to slow or prevent retinal degeneration.

Application of Plant Viruses as a Biotemplate for Nanomaterial Fabrication

open access: yesMolecules, 2018
Viruses are widely used to fabricate nanomaterials in the field of nanotechnology. Plant viruses are of great interest to the nanotechnology field because of their symmetry, polyvalency, homogeneous size distribution, and ability to self-assemble.

TRAF2 binds to TIFA via a novel motif and contributes to its autophagic degradation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
TRAF family members couple receptor signalling complexes to downstream outputs, but how they interact with these complexes is not always clear. Here, we show that during ADP‐heptose signalling, TRAF2 binding to TIFA requires two short sequence motifs in the C‐terminal tail of TIFA, which are distinct from the TRAF6 binding motif.

Repurposing Plant Virus Nanoparticles

open access: yesVaccines, 2018
Plants have been explored for many years as inexpensive and versatile platforms for the generation of vaccines and other biopharmaceuticals. Plant viruses have also been engineered to either express subunit vaccines or act as epitope presentation systems.
