Developing a Hyperspectral Remote Sensing-Based Algorithm to Diagnose Potato Moisture for Water-Saving Irrigation

open access: yesHorticulturae
Appropriate water supply is crucial for high-yield and high-quality potato tuber production. However, potatoes are mainly planted in arid and semi-arid regions in China, where the precipitation usually cannot meet the water demand throughout the growth ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Terahertz spectral imaging based quantitative determination of spatial distribution of plant leaf constituents

open access: yesPlant Methods, 2019
Background Plant leaves have heterogeneous structures composed of spatially variable distribution of liquid, solid, and gaseous matter. Such contents and distribution characteristics correlate with the leaf vigor and phylogenic traits.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Water relations of cucumber, tomato, and sweet pepper

open access: yes, 1977
The ever increasing importance of water as a critical resource for agricultural production has encouraged more research on water relations in recent years.

A plant-derived biostimulant Aminolom Enzimatico® application stimulates chlorophyll content, electrolyte leakage, stomata density and root yield of radishes under salinity stress [PDF]

open access: yesPeerJ
Biostimulants stimulate plant growth and tolerance to salinity stress, which creates unfavorable conditions for plant growth from emergence to harvest; however, little is known about their roles in triggering salt tolerance. Therefore, the study aimed to

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

A provisional survey of the interaction between net photosynthetic rate, respiratory rate, and thallus water content in some New Zealand cryptogams

open access: yes, 1980
The effect of water content on photosynthetic and respiratory rates in eight lichen species and one bryophyte species were studied using an injection infrared gas analyser technique. All species snowed a strong relationship between net assimilation rate (

Relationship of the Soil Water Content and Microclimate to the Plant Growth Water Use Relationship of Several Plants

open access: yes, 1971
Studies involving field plots, lysimeters, and garbage can lysimeters showed that an intermediate soil water level produced the most growth for a given amount of water use by oats, corn, and barley. For crested wheatgrass the lowest water level produced the most growth per water used.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
