The Effectiveness of Salivary Sampling for the Detection and Quantification of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans in Periodontitis Patients

open access: yesPathogens
The objective was to evaluate using unstimulated saliva in detecting Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans and to compare the saliva and subgingival and mucosa membrane occurrence of this periodontal pathogen in patients diagnosed with advanced ...

Unilateral pathology associated with bilateral etiologies

open access: yesContemporary Clinical Dentistry, 2011
Hormonal fluctutaions affect not only a woman′s reproductive system but surprisingly they have a strong influence on the oral cavity also. These changes are not necessarily the result of direct hormonal action on the tissue, but are perhaps best ...

Label‐Free SERS Fingerprinting of Neuroprotein Conformational Dynamics in Human Saliva

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Galvanic molecular entrapment (GME) is a label‐free method for detecting and quantifying neuroprotein conformational states. This technique enables direct surface binding and in situ hotspot generation around molecules, effectively overcoming challenges related to target localization and mismatched hotspot geometries.

Development of Human‐Like Advanced Coronary Plaques in Low‐Density Lipoprotein Receptor Knockout Pigs and Justification for Statin Treatment Before Formation of Atherosclerotic Plaques

open access: yesJournal of the American Heart Association: Cardiovascular and Cerebrovascular Disease, 2016
BackgroundAlthough clinical trials have proved that statin can be used prophylactically against cardiovascular events, the direct effects of statin on plaque development are not well understood.

Inhaled Angiopoietin‐Like 4 Antisense Oligonucleotide Therapy for Lung Injury and Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inhaled antisense oligonucleotides targeting ANGPTL4 attenuate inflammation, preserve barrier integrity, and reduce fibrosis in both infectious and sterile lung injury models. Integrated transcriptomic analysis reveals a conserved ANGPTL4‐regulated gene network coordinating hypoxic, inflammatory, apoptotic, and stress‐response pathways.

APPLICATION OF TUBE TYPE ULTRASONIC CONCENTRATORS-WAVEGUIDES FOR BLOOD VESSELS OBSTRUCTION ELIMINATION

open access: yesДоклады Белорусского государственного университета информатики и радиоэлектроники, 2019
Fundamentally new design of ultrasonic waveguide-catheter system to eliminate the obstruction of blood vessels was developed. The effect thrombus/plaques destruction is carried out by using a cavitation jet of liquid formed by supplying through internal ...

Stochastic Nanoscale Biophysical Cues as a Basis for the Induction of Glioblastoma‐Like Transcriptional Programs in Astrocytes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Stochastic nanoscale physical cues induce glioblastoma (GBM)‐associated transcriptional traits in naïve astrocytes leading to spontaneous formation of spheroids. Cells within spheroids express activated‐MMP2 and a differential gene expression pattern involving P53 and NOTCH3, providing evidence for a role for changes in brain topography, as observed in
