Wearable plasma-pads for healthcare applications: Plasma patch, plasma bandage, plasma socks, and plasma cap

2016 IEEE International Conference on Plasma Science (ICOPS), 2016
Wearable plasma-devices involving a dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) are introduced. The conventional devices of the atmospheric pressure plasmas, a DBD and a plasma jet developed last decades, have an inconvenient for some cases requiring a frequent treatment, a long period therapy, and a significantly large area to be exposed with the plasma.

Plasma Physics and Plasma Technology [PDF]

open access: possiblePhysica Scripta, 1998
Plasma physics has its great potential as a pure science. This comes from the physics for collective phenomena, non-linear and turbulent phenomena, as well as its effects on the relaxation and transport phenomena in the plasma. On the other hand, application of the plasma started from the telecommunication through the ionosphere, electric discharge ...

Plasma chemistry of fluorocarbons as related to plasma etching and plasma polymerization [PDF]

open access: possible, 1981
This chapter deals with the physical and chemical processes which take place in fluorocarbon plasmas. Emphasis is given to plasma diagnostic techniques which are well suited to investigate the neutral and ionized gas phase species as well as plasma-surface interactions.

The plasma undulator [PDF]

open access: possiblePhysica Scripta, 1990
On the basis of the theory of magnetic undulator for free electron laser (FEL) we analyze the use of a large amplitude plasma wave as an electrostatic undulator. We review the original idea of the plasma undulator and consider some particular plasma undulator configurations.

The Physics of Laser Plasma Interactions

, 2019
Based on a graduate course in plasma physics taught at University of California, Davis, this classic book provides a concise overview and a physically-motivated treatment of the major plasma processes which determine the interaction of intense light ...

The Plasma State

1994
The plasma state is frequently referred to as the fourth state of matter in the sequence: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. This classification as a state of matter is justified by the fact that more than 99% of the known universe is in the plasma state. A typical example is the sun, whose interior temperatures exceed 107 K.

The quark plasma

Nature, 1986
Because nucleons are bound states of quarks, nuclear matter should at sufficiently high density become a quark plasma. Assuming quantum chromodynamics as the basic theory of nuclear forces, it is possible to derive strong-interaction thermodynamics and study the nature of this transition.

Human Blood Plasma and Plasma Substances

AJN, American Journal of Nursing, 1954
LMOST from the beginning of history, the importance of blood was appreciated and it was believed to have mysterious properties which could be transferred from a donor to a recipient. Although transfusion is an old procedure, no degree of success was attained until the beginning of the present century when Crile, Elsberg, and others developed methods ...

Plasma generation and plasma sources

Plasma Sources Science and Technology, 2000
This paper reviews the most commonly used methods for the generation of plasmas with special emphasis on non-thermal, low-temperature plasmas for technological applications. We also discuss various technical realizations of plasma sources for selected applications. This paper is further limited to the discussion of plasma generation methods that employ
