Effect of reheating on electroweak baryogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
The latent heat released during the expansion of bubbles in the electroweak phase transition reheats the plasma and causes the bubble growth to slow down. This decrease of the bubble wall velocity affects the result of electroweak baryogenesis. Since the

Bubble regime in deep plasma channels [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2017
We consider the advantages of the bubble regime in plasmas with deep channels. Particle-in-cell simulations for laser-driven bubbles show that the use of hollow channels allows one to significantly improve the quality of resulting electron bunches. An analytical theory for the bubble in radially non-uniform plasmas is developed.

Gamma-Ray Burst Phenomenon as Collapse of QED Magnetized Vacuum Bubble: Analogy with Sonoluminescence

open access: yes, 1999
We consider the phenomenon of a gamma-ray burst as a nonlinear collapse of a magnetic cavity surrounding a neutron star with very strong magnetic field B = 10^15 - 10^16 G due to the process of the bubble shape instability in a resonant MHD field of the ...

Surprisingly Little O VI Emission Arises in the Local Bubble [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
This paper reports the first study of the O VI resonance line emission (1032, 1038 Angstroms) originating in the Local Bubble (or Local Hot Bubble) surrounding the solar neighborhood.

On-Demand Metallization System Using Micro-Plasma Bubbles

open access: yesMicromachines, 2022
3D wiring technology is required for the integration of micro–nano devices on various 3D surfaces. However, current wiring technologies cannot be adapted to a variety of materials and surfaces. Here, we propose a new metal deposition method using only a micro-plasma bubble injector and a metal ion solution. Micro-plasma bubbles were generated on demand

Midlatitude Plasma Blob‐like Structures Along With Super Equatorial Plasma Bubbles During the May 2024 Great Geomagnetic Storm

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Plasma blob is generally a low‐latitude phenomenon occurring at the poleward edge of equatorial plasma bubble (EPB) during post‐sunset periods. Here we report a case of midlatitude ionospheric plasma blob‐like structures occurring along with super EPBs ...

Laser wakefield and direct acceleration in the plasma bubble regime [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Laser wakefield acceleration (LWFA) and direct laser acceleration (DLA) are two different kinds of laser plasma electron acceleration mechanisms. LWFA relies on the laser-driven plasma wave to accelerate electrons.

GOLD plasma bubble observations comparison with geolocation of plasma irregularities by back propagation of the high-rate FORMOSA7/COSMIC 2 scintillation data

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
Using the high-rate phase and amplitude scintillation data from FORMOSA7/COSMIC two mission and back-propagation method, we geolocate plasma irregularities that cause scintillations.

Gravity wave and tidal influences on equatorial spread F based on observations during the Spread F Experiment (SpreadFEx) [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 2008
The Spread F Experiment, or SpreadFEx, was performed from September to November 2005 to define the potential role of neutral atmosphere dynamics, primarily gravity waves propagating upward from the lower atmosphere, in seeding equatorial spread F (ESF)

Interaction of plasma drifts: A hypothesis for equatorial spread F occurrence

open access: yesJournal of Space Weather and Space Climate
Studies on the generation mechanisms of post-sunset ionospheric irregularities, which constitute a threat to trans-ionospheric radio propagation, particularly at the African sector, are quite sparse.
