Flat bubble regime and laminar plasma flow in a plasma wakefield accelerator

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2022
A simple 2D model of the bubble formation in a plasma wakefield accelerator is developed and investigated. We show that in the case of a flat driver, the bubble may consist of two parts.

Geomagnetic conjugacy of plasma bubbles extending to mid-latitudes during a geomagnetic storm on March 1, 2013

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2022
This study, for the first time, reports the geomagnetically conjugate structure of a plasma bubble extending to the mid-latitudes and the asymmetrical structure of the decay of the plasma bubble during a geomagnetic storm.

A Statistical Analysis of Plasma Bubbles Observed by Swarm Constellation during Different Types of Geomagnetic Storms

open access: yesUniverse, 2021
Based on the observations of Ionospheric Bubble Index (IBI) data from the Swarm mission, the characteristics of plasma bubbles are investigated during different types of geomagnetic storms recorded from 2014 to 2020.

Successive Westward Traveling Surges Driven by Sequential Plasma‐Sheet Bubble Injections

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2022
The westward traveling surge (WTS) is one of the most notable manifestations of auroral substorms. Using the Rice Convection Model, previous study confirmed that a single plasma‐sheet bubble injection can result in the formation of WTS.

Time-resolved characterization of a pulsed discharge in a stationary bubble [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
In recent years, plasma generation in water has been proposed for the application of water treatment. The process efficiency is believed to be improved by the introduction of bubbles in the plasma active region.

Plasma-Induced Bubble Microjet Metallization of Elastomer [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
As the development of flexible materials and advanced materials progresses, innovative wiring methods for these materials are attracting attention. In this study, we investigated a new wiring technology using plasma-induced microbubbles for elastomer without any surface treatment. Our technology includes three main points.

An XMM-Newton Observation of the Local Bubble Using a Shadowing Filament in the Southern Galactic Hemisphere [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We present an analysis of the X-ray spectrum of the Local Bubble, obtained by simultaneously analyzing spectra from two XMM-Newton pointings on and off an absorbing filament in the Southern galactic hemisphere (b ~ -45 deg).

Simulation equatorial plasma bubbles started from plasma clouds [PDF]

open access: yesComputer Research and Modeling, 2019
Experimental, theoretical and numerical investigations of equatorial spread F, equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs), plasma depletion shells, and plasma clouds are continued at new variety articles. Nonlinear growth, bifurcation, pinching, atomic and molecular ion dynamics are considered at there articles.

A Study of the Topside Plasma Blob and Adjacent Bubble Near Sunrise in Low-Latitude Ionosphere During the Main Phase of August 2003 Storm

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2021
In this paper, a plasma blob and an adjacent plasma bubble in low-latitude region at 245°E region near sunrise recorded by the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) F13 satellite around 840 km on 18 August 2003 were presented.
