Sub‐Nanometer Cobalt on Tungsten Titanium Carbide MXene (W2TiC2Tx): An Electrocatalyst for Highly Efficient and Stable Alkaline Hydrogen Evolution at Industrial‐Scale Current Density

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A novel W2TiC2Tx MXene prepared through a MAX‐phase route supports sub‐nanometer Co for highly efficient alkaline hydrogen evolution. Strong Co–W interfacial interactions optimize hydrogen adsorption and catalytic activity, enabling low overpotentials of 63 mV at 10 mA cm−2, small Tafel slope of 44.3 mV dec−1, and exceptional durability at industrially

Temperature-dependent bubble growth under synergistic interactions of hydrogen and helium in tungsten

open access: yesNuclear Fusion
A novel theoretical model based on modified diffusion rate equations is proposed to simulate the retention of hydrogen isotopes and the dynamics of bubble growth in tungsten (W) when exposed to simultaneous hydrogen (H) and helium (He) plasma ...

Airglow-imaging observation of plasma bubble disappearance at geomagnetically conjugate points

open access: yesEarth, Planets and Space, 2014
We report the first observation of the disappearance of a plasma bubble over geomagnetically conjugate points. It was observed by airglow imagers at Darwin, Australia (magnetic latitude: −22°N) and Sata, Japan (21°N) on 8 August 2002.

Advanced Materials for Biologics Delivery to Brain Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Material innovation is central to unlocking the therapeutic potential of biologics against many central nervous system diseases, including brain cancer. By engineering carriers with controlled transport, targeting, and release properties, advanced materials can overcome the blood–brain barrier and tumor microenvironment, improving the delivery of ...

Measurements of magnetic field generation at ionization fronts from laser wakefield acceleration experiments

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2013
Laser wakefield acceleration experiments were performed using a 30 fs, 1 J laser pulse interacting with an underdense helium plasma. Temporally resolved polarimetry measurements demonstrate the presence of magnetic fields at the ionization front within ...

Hierarchical Flexible Ceramic Nanofiber Membrane for Simultaneous Membrane Distillation and Photocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A hierarchical flexible ceramic nanofiber membrane integrates a La‐stabilized ZrO2 scaffold with superhydrophobic UiO‐66‐NH2/CdS heterojunctions. The gas–liquid–solid interfacial architecture sustains vapor‐selective desalination, visible‐light charge separation, and rapid H2 extraction, enabling simultaneous freshwater production and photocatalytic ...

Decoding Synergistic Pathways in Bimetallic MOFs for Advanced Oxidation Processes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review presents a unified framework linking metal pairing and framework design with electronic structure, redox cycling, oxidant activation, reactive‐species generation, and catalytic performance across photocatalytic and oxidant‐based BMOF‐AOPs. The resulting design principles guide the development of hydrolytically stable and efficient BMOFs for

Experimental Study of Plasma Actuator Effects on Flow Field Separation Bubble around Blunt Flat Plate

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics, 2016
In this paper, the air flow around a blunt flat plate with a rounded leading edge has been experimentally examined with and without the presence of a plasma actuator. Tests have been conducted with Reynolds numbers ranging from 104 to 105.

High-quality monoenergetic proton generation by sequential radiation pressure and bubble acceleration

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2009
Two-dimensional particle-in cell simulation shows that protons in a small target located in an underdense high-mass plasma can be accelerated by the radiation pressure of a short circularly polarized laser pulse as well as by the wake bubble field of the
