Rapidly Progressive Atrial Mass and Cardiac Tamponade
Cardiac involvement in multiple myeloma is rare. We report a rapidly progressive atrial mass and plasma cell–infiltrated pericardial effusion with tamponade.

The stability and plasticity of B cell-mediated immune memory ensures the ability to respond to the repeated challenges. We have analyzed the longitudinal dynamics of immunoglobulin heavy chain repertoires from memory B cells, plasmablasts, and plasma ...

Abstract A case of plasma cell leukemia is reported, together with a review of the literature, including a summary of the signs, symptoms, and laboratory findings usually present. The relationship of this leukemic state to ordinary plasmacytoma, a tumor of white cell origin, is discussed.

Hspa13 Promotes Plasma Cell Production and Antibody Secretion
The generation of large numbers of plasma cells (PCs) is a main factor in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). We hypothesize that Hspa13, a member of the heat shock protein family, plays a critical role in the control of PC differentiation.

Bone Marrow Plasma Cells Modulate Local Myeloid-Lineage Differentiation via IL-10
Bone marrow plasma cells have been reported to represent a major source of IL-10; however, the impact of plasma cell derived IL-10 in that tissue remains poorly understood.

As an object for study, the adaptive immune system is proving one of the most compelling and fascinating in the body. This system underlies our primary defence against acute infection and mediates long-term immunity by generation of memory and long-lived effector cells.

Nocodazole, a microtubule-active drug, interferes with apical protein delivery in cultured intestinal epithelial cells (Caco-2) [PDF]
The polarized delivery of membrane proteins to the cell surface and the initial secretion of lysosomal proteins into the culture medium were studied in the polarized human intestinal adenocarcinoma cell line Caco-2 in the presence or absence of the ...

Plasma cell leukemia (PCL) is defined by the presence of more than 2 × 109/L PCs in the peripheral blood. It is a very rare type of leukemia with poor outcome. In this case, we report a PCL case with peripheral blood morphology of hairy cell leukemia. We

Plasma cell vulvitis is a very rare inflammatory disorder of vulva, characterized by a bright-red mucosal lesion of significant chronicity, which may be symptomatic. Very few case studies of this condition are reported in literature. We describe one such classical patient, who presented with slight dyspareunia.
