Measuring the plasma density of a ferroelectric plasma source in an expanding plasma [PDF]
The initial density and electron temperature at the surface of a ferroelectric plasma source were deduced from floating probe measurements in an expanding plasma. The method exploits negative charging of the floating probe capacitance by fast flows before the expanding plasma reaches the probe.

ICRF Plasma Production with the W7-X Like Antenna in the Uragan-2M Stellarator [PDF]
0000-0003-4948-0896The results of the plasma start-up with ICRH of U-2M RF discharges in H2+He mixture with newly implemented controlled gas H2 concentration are presented. The W7-X like ICRH antenna operated in monopole phasing with applied RF power of ∼

Experimental Investigations of Magnetohydrodynamic Plasma Jets [PDF]
This thesis primarily focuses on understanding the plasma behavior during the helicity injection stage of a pulsed spheromak experiment. Spheromak formation consists of a series of dynamic steps whereby highly localized plasma near the electrodes evolves

Collimated fast electron beam generation in critical density plasma [PDF]
Significantly collimated fast electron beam with a divergence angle 10° (FWHM) is observed when an ultra-intense laser pulse (I = 1014 W/cm2, 300 fs) irradiates a uniform critical density plasma. The uniform plasma is created through the ionization of an

Numerical study on propagation mechanism and bio-medicine applications of plasma jet
In this study, the propagation mechanism of plasma jet and some bio-medical applications are investigated by two-dimensional numerical model. The key equations of plasma physics and chemistry related with plasma jet are firstly introduced. The simulation

Detailed H(n=2) density measurements in a magnetized hydrogen plasma jet [PDF]
We present detailed spatial density measurements of H(n = 2), i.e. the first excited state of atomic hydrogen, in a hydrogen plasma expansion that is weakly magnetized. At a specific distance from the source of the expansion a sharp transition from a red

Cold atmospheric-pressure He + N(2) and He + O(2) plasmas are chosen as the representatives for electropositive and electronegative plasmas, of which the discharge characteristics are studied and then compared to each other by fluid models.

Bulk plasma properties at geosynchronous orbit. [PDF]
We present a comprehensive study of plasma properties at geosynchronous orbit for electron and ion energies between ∼1 eV and ∼45 keV, between 1990 and 2001.

Plasma density development in a pulsed microwave concentrator [PDF]
S.S969-S972In this work bifocal elliptic structures are analyzed which can sufficiently concentrate microwaves in a focal point or line for the ignition of plasma. With these structure, microwave discharges can be generated geometrically removed from the

Dynamics of ionisation wave propagation in an applied external electric field
This study presents spatio-temporal development of the ionisation waves (IWs) along one dielectric tube with an extra alternating electric field. A pulsed direct current power supply is used for generating the IWs, and another alternating current power ...
