Beamstrahlung considerations in laser-plasma-accelerator-based linear colliders

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2012
Beam-beam interaction constraints modify the basic plasma density scalings for a linear collider based on laser-plasma accelerators. In the quantum beamstrahlung regime, it is shown that operating at low plasma density increases beamstrahlung effects ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Relativistic self-focusing of intense laser beam in thermal collisionless quantum plasma with ramped density profile

open access: yesPhysical Review Special Topics. Accelerators and Beams, 2015
Propagation of a Gaussian x-ray laser beam has been analyzed in collisionless thermal quantum plasma with considering a ramped density profile. In this density profile due to the increase in the plasma density, an earlier and stronger self-focusing ...

Initial rate of cholesterol esterification association with high density lipoproteins in human plasma

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1980
The enzyme lecithin:cholesterol acyl transferase has been measured both in total plasma and in the fraction of plasma from which very low and low density lipoproteins have been removed by ultracentrifugation.

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Spatial distribution of plasma density and magnetic field amplitude in the dayside magnetosheath as a function of the IMF orientation

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences
The properties of the magnetosheath are of pivotal importance in determining the coupling between the magnetosphere and interplanetary medium. In particular, the magnetic flux pileup and plasma depletion layer (PDL) modify the boundary conditions of ...

Characteristics of electron temperature profile stiffness in electron-heated plasmas on EAST

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2022
A very high core electron temperature ( T _e0 ∼ 10 keV) plasma has been established and stably sustained by applying both lower hybrid wave (LHW) and on-axis electron cyclotron resonance heating (ECRH) in the Experimental Advanced Superconducting Tokamak

Plasma extrachromosomal circular DNA as a biomarker in EGFR‐targeted therapy of non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Detection of extrachromosomal circular DNA (eccDNA) in plasma samples from EGFR‐mutated non‐small cell lung cancer patients. Plasma was collected before and during treatment with the EGFR‐tyrosine kinase inhibitor osimertinib. Plasma eccDNA was detected in all cancer samples, and the presence of the EGFR gene on eccDNA serves as a potential biomarker ...

Enhanced resonant second harmonic generation in plasma based on density transition

open access: yesNukleonika, 2015
Resonant second harmonic generation of a relativistic self-focusing laser in plasma with density ramp profile has been investigated. A high intense Gaussian laser beam generates resonant second harmonic beam in plasma with density ramp profile.
