Quantifying experimental edge plasma evolution via multidimensional adaptive Gaussian process regression [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Submitted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Plasma ScienceThe edge density and temperature of tokamak plasmas are strongly correlated with energy and particle confinement and their quantification is fundamental to understanding edge dynamics. These

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Photodestruction of Diatomic Molecular Ions: Laboratory and Astrophysical Application

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
In this work, the processes of photodissociation of some diatomic molecular ions are investigated. The partial photodissociation cross-sections for the individual rovibrational states of the diatomic molecular ions, which involves alkali metals, as well ...

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Neutronics Simulations for DEMO Diagnostics

open access: yesSensors, 2023
One of the main challenges in the development of a plasma diagnostic and control system for DEMO is the need to cope with unprecedented radiation levels in a tokamak during long operation periods.

Polarimetric method of plasma diagnostics

open access: yesLaser Physics Letters, 2022
Abstract The polarization plane rotation angle of a probe signal in plasma is calculated. The estimates of the residual gas average density and the average magnitude of the magnetic field in a cesium plasma based on the effects of Faraday and Cotton–Mouton in a probe laser field have been found. It is shown that the polarization plane
