Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Temporal distribution of linear densities of the plasma column in a plasma focus discharge
Experiments were carried out on the PF-1000 plasma focus device, with a deuterium filling and with deuterium puffing from a gas-puff nozzle placed on the axis of the anode face. The current was reaching 2 MA.

Advanced plasma diagnostics for thin-film deposition [PDF]
An ever-increasing amount of diagnostics is available to study plasma and obtain quantities lIke atomic and molecular densities, ion and electron densities, temperature ofelectronsandheavyparticles, andtheirvelocities, to justnamea few. But also surface

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Bayesian modelling of multiple plasma diagnostics at Wendelstein 7-X
Inference of electron density and temperature has been performed using multiple, diverse sets of plasma diagnostic data at Wendelstein 7-X. Predictive models for the interferometer, Thomson scattering and helium beam emission spectroscopy (He-BES ...

Ion acceleration from intense laser-generated plasma: methods, diagnostics and possible applications
Many parameters of non-equilibrium plasma generated by high intensity and fast lasers depend on the pulse intensity and the laser wavelength. In conditions favourable for the target normal sheath acceleration (TNSA) regime the ion acceleration from the ...
