Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

WENO schemes applied to the quasi-relativistic Vlasov--Maxwell model for laser-plasma interaction [PDF]
In this paper we focus on WENO-based methods for the simulation of the 1D Quasi-Relativistic Vlasov--Maxwell (QRVM) model used to describe how a laser wave interacts with and heats a plasma by penetrating into it.

Plasma Focus Studies in Serbia
The plasma focus experiment in Belgrade, Serbia started in the late eighties of the last century. The historical overview of the research activity on the Belgrade plasma focus device (BPFD) will be presented in this work. The special attention has been made to the present status and the future plans for the fundamental and applied research as a ...

Phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinase as a target of pathogens—friend or foe?
This graphical summary illustrates the roles of phosphatidylinositol 4‐kinases (PI4Ks). PI4Ks regulate key cellular processes and can be hijacked by pathogens, such as viruses, bacteria and parasites, to support their intracellular replication. Their dual role as essential host enzymes and pathogen cofactors makes them promising drug targets.

Focus on Complex (Dusty) Plasmas
The research field of complex (dusty) plasmas has seen a sustained rapid growth in recent years. This can be attributed to the remarkable discovery of new states of (soft) matter - the liquid and crystalline plasmas - in 1994. Following this discovery, many researchers throughout the world decided to explore and investigate the new physics that was ...

Conceptual engineering of plasma-focus thermonuclear pulsors [PDF]
The basic engineering criteria for conceptual design of plasma focus devices is derived from a thermonuclear model, and applied successfully to the operation of small neutron pulsors. The theory is able to explain the variation of the neutron yield with the gas pressure in deuterium-filled chambers, the current evolution, and the electrode geometrical ...

Crosstalk between the ribosome quality control‐associated E3 ubiquitin ligases LTN1 and RNF10
Loss of the E3 ligase LTN1, the ubiquitin‐like modifier UFM1, or the deubiquitinating enzyme UFSP2 disrupts endoplasmic reticulum–ribosome quality control (ER‐RQC), a pathway that removes stalled ribosomes and faulty proteins. This disruption may trigger a compensatory response to ER‐RQC defects, including increased expression of the E3 ligase RNF10 ...
