Plasma nortriptyline and clinical response in depression
Journal of Affective Disorders, 1985Plasma levels of nortriptyline below 50 ng/ml or above 150 ng/ml have been reported to yield results inferior to intermediate levels. In the present study, patients with uncomplicated primary, nonbipolar depression were randomly assigned to 12 weeks of treatment with NT alone or with cognitive therapy. Nine of 35 patients had mean NT plasma levels less

Trifluoperazine Plasma Levels and Clinical Response
Journal of Clinical Psychopharmacology, 1989The authors studied 36 acutely psychotic inpatients who were diagnosed as having either a schizophrenic (N = 30) or other psychotic (N = 6) disorder. After a washout phase averaging 18 days, all patients were placed on trifluoperazine 5 mg orally twice a day.

Metabolic responses to plasma concentrations of theophylline
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1979We investigated the effect of intravenous infusions of aminophylline on plasma glucose, insulin (IRI), glucagon (IRG), growth hormone (HGH), cortisol, and free fatty acid (FFA) levels in healthy young subjects. Six received an intravenous loading dose of aminophylline (6.0 mg/kg over 20 min) followed by a maintenance dose (0.9 mg/kg/hr) for 100 min ...

THE RESPONSE OF PLASMA OXYTOCIN TO SURGICAL STRESS
Clinical Endocrinology, 1988SUMMARYRecent evidence suggests that oxytocin (OXT) and arginine vasopressin (AVP) are involved in the response to stress. We have examined the changes in peripheral plasma OXT during abdominal surgery Hhin eight patients (six males, two female; ages 60‐82 years) undergoing hemicolectomy and compared the results with those for AVP to the same stimulus.

Plasma Response to Strongly Sheared Flow
Physical Review Letters, 1996Laboratory observations of reactively driven plasma waves in the ion-cyclotron frequency range associated with a localized, transverse dc electric field are reported. This wave excitation occurs even when the field-aligned current is negligible, a situation often reported in the space plasma environment.

Clozapine: Plasma levels and prolactin response
Psychopharmacology, 1981Serial plasma clozapine levels and serum prolactin levels were determined in two schizophrenic patients receiving clozapine, a novel antipsychotic drug. Despite marked therapeutic response and substantial clozapine blood levels, prolactin levels obtained 11--12 h after the last oral dose were unaffected or only minimally elevated.

Protriptyline plasma levels and antidepressant response
Clinical Pharmacology & Therapeutics, 1977Twenty‐one depressed outpatients were treated for 4 wk with 20 mg Iday of protriptyline. Protriptyline plasma levels in individuals after 4 wk ranged from 22 nglml to 167 nglml. There was a negative correlation (‐0.50, p < 0.05) between the severity of depression measured by the Hamilton Rating Scale (HRS) and the wk 4 protriptyline concentration ...

Cimetidine plasma concentration-response relationships
Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1981Cimetidine plasma concentration-response relationships were investigated in six healthy subjects using suppression of gastric acid secretion under continuous pentagastrin stimulation (1.5 micrograms/kg/hr) as a test model. With the Hill equation the sigmoid was preferable to the linear relationship between plasma concentration and effect, and there ...
