Studying of Plasma- Polymerized Pyrrole at Variable Gas Flow Rates Via Plasma Jet

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2021
In this manuscript has investigated the synthesis of plasma-polymerized pyrrole (C4H5N) nano-particles prepared by the proposed atmospheric pressure nonequilibrium plasma jet through the parametric studies, particularly gas flow rate (0.5, 1 and 1 ...

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

Potential of Clay-Based Geomaterials for Passive Treatment of Brackish and Saline Waters [PDF]

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences
The increasing salinity and water scarcity of water resources are major problems in semi-arid or arid regions. This study examines the possibilities of a hybrid geomaterial based on clay to treat passively water bodies that are brackish or saline made ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

The Fourth Workshop on Lineshape Code Comparison: Line Merging

open access: yesAtoms, 2018
For a given set of plasma parameters, along a single series (Lyman, Balmer, etc.) the lines with higher principal quantum number (n) lines get progressively wider, closer to each other, and start merging for a certain critical n.

Biophysical approaches for studying viral entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses infect all living organisms and have been responsible for major epidemics and pandemics. Their ongoing evolutionary battle with host defenses creates a constant need for improved tools to study viral behavior. Advancing methods to probe viral attachment, fusion, and genome release deepen our understanding of how infections begin and support the

Surface Roughening of Poly (methyl-methacrylate) Membranes by SF6-Glow-Discharge Plasma Etching

open access: yesTikrit Journal of Pure Science, 2023
The (100 μm) thick of high density Polymethylmethacrylate PMMA membranes were prepared by solution cast method and treated by (42 W), low pressure, DC-discharge, SF6-Plasma for different exposure time: 10,30,60 and 80 min.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
