Effect of pressure on the performance of plasma synthetic jet actuator
Science China: Physics, Mechanics and Astronomy, 2014The effects of the ambient air pressure level on the performance of plasma synthetic jet actuator have been investigated through electrical and optical diagnostics. Pressures from 1 atm down to 0.1 atm were tested with a 10 Hz excitation. The discharge measurement demonstrates that there is a voltage range to make the actuator work reliably.

A self-trigger three-electrode plasma synthetic jet actuator
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2021Abstract As a potential active flow control technology, plasma synthetic jet actuator (PSJA) has shown wide and promising application prospects in the high-speed flow. However, the application of PSJA is still limited by the low energy transfer efficiency and high driving voltage. This study presents a novel and practical self-trigger three-electrode

Influence of the Spark Discharge Size on a Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuator
IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2011The plasma synthetic jet, which produces a synthetic jet with high exhaust velocities, is very attractive for aerodynamic purposes. The aim of this paper is to illustrate how the size of the discharge (evaluate using short-exposure-time pictures of the discharge) influences the jet velocity (determined through the use of Schlieren images).

Effects of capacitance on a plasma synthetic jet actuator with a conical cavity
Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2018Abstract Plasma Synthetic Jet Actuator (PSJA), which incorporates no mechanical parts, zero mass flux capability, adjustable operating frequency and momentum throughput, has drawn increasing attention on high speed flow control. Experiments were conducted on a PSJA with a conical cavity at same energy input, the energy supplied to the PSJA mainly ...
