AbstractPlasmacytoma involving the larynx is very rare. To the best of our knowledge there are only 79 cases reported in the world literature. We are adding 3 more cases; 2 cases were associated with multiple myeloma and 1 was considered to be a solitary or extramedullar plasmacytoma. The clinical picture was hoarseness and upper airway obstruction. In

AbstractA Retrospective Review Is Presented Of Nine Patients Presenting With Solitary Plasmacytoma. Between 1963 And 1980, These Patients Were Treated With Radiation At The Department Of Radiation Oncology, University Of Louisville. Amyloid is an extracellular proteinaceous low-molecular-weight fibril. In the larynx, amyloid deposits usually represent a benign localized disease. Although laryngeal amyloidosis is an indolent lesion, amyloid deposition in the larynx may actually result from a lymphoproliferative disorder and not isolated amyloidosis. In this case report, we describe

Two cases of calvarial plasmacytoma were studied angiographically. Common findings included (a) hypertrophy or prominence of an extracranial artery supplying the area of bony destruction, (b) displacement and distortion of intracranial vessels in the presence of dural extension, (c) a less intense tumor stain of short duration (compared to meningioma ...

Plasmacytoma of the larynx is rare; thirty-one cases are reported in the literature and in this paper a further case is presented. The difficulty in diagnosing plasmacytoma is mentioned. Investigations to exclude multiple myeloma are mandatory to be sure that the disease is a localized lesion.

Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a rare form of plasma cell dyscrasia, in which malignant plasma cell tumors arise outside the bone marrow. The tumor may arise in any part of the body but the vast majority occur in the head and neck, primarily in the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, or upper airway.

Abstract Extramedullary plasmacytomas are rare tumors occurring most commonly in the upper respiratory tract. These tumors rarely have been reported in the genitourinary system. We report the first known case of a plasmacytoma of the urethra, in this instance a probable late metastasis.
