Extramedullar Plasmacytoma

Extramedullary plasmacytoma is a rare form of plasma cell dyscrasia, in which malignant plasma cell tumors arise outside the bone marrow. The tumor may arise in any part of the body but the vast majority occur in the head and neck, primarily in the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, or upper airway.

Intracerebral Solitary Plasmacytoma

Abstract We report a rare occurrence of intraparenchymal plasmacytoma and review the literature. The clonal nature of the neoplasm is demonstrated by immunohistochemical and molecular techniques. The importance of the latter techniques in ruling out other pathological entities is stressed.

Solitary plasmacytoma. II: Solitary plasmacytoma of bone

The clinical features and the results of treatment of twelve patients with solitary plasmacytoma of bone (SPB) are reported. The median age at presentation was 53 years and there was a predominance of males. Five patients have developed multiple myeloma (MM), for within three years and one after twelve years.
