DNA segregation under Par protein control.
The spatial organization of DNA is mediated by the Par protein system in some bacteria. ParB binds specifically to the parS sequence on DNA and orchestrates its motion by interacting with ParA bound to the nucleoid. In the case of plasmids, a single ParB

Mini-P1 plasmid partitioning: excess ParB protein destabilizes plasmids containing the centromere parS [PDF]
The partition system of the unit-copy plasmid P1 consists of two proteins, the parA and parB gene products, and a cis-acting site, parS. Production of high levels of the P1 ParB protein, from an external promoter on a high-copy-number vector, inhibits the propagation of lambda-mini-P1 prophages and destabilizes other P1-derived plasmids.

Phosphorylation of Optineurin by TBK1 induces the formation of filaments that condensate upon binding to linear polyubiquitin. Membrane‐anchored LC3 partitions into these condensates, suggesting that phase separation of filamentous Optineurin with ubiquitylated cargo promotes the sequestration of cargo and its subsequent alignment with LC3‐positive ...

Supercoil formation in DNA denaturation
We generalize the Poland-Scheraga (PS) model to the case of a circular DNA, taking into account the twisting of the two strains around each other. Guided by recent single-molecule experiments on DNA strands, we assume that the torsional stress induced by

This study shows that lower NAM levels in PE‐derived pEVs correlate with disease severity. NAM‐deficient pEVs reduce Th1 and Th17 inhibition, leading to PE‐like symptoms. NAM in pEVs inhibits Th1 via SIRT1 and Th17 via macrophages. Reduced NAM in PE‐EVs is due to decreased HRS expression in trophoblasts, resulting from elevated HSP27.

Association of a centromere specific nucleosome with the yeast plasmid partitioning locus [PDF]
The genetically defined point centromeres of budding yeasts and the epigenetically specified regional centromeres of all other eukaryotes harbor a common epigenetic mark in the form of a non-standard nucleosome. Although, the composition of the protein core of the centromere specific nucleosome and the nature of the DNA wrap around it are at present ...

Lactylation‐Driven YTHDC1 Alleviates MASLD by Suppressing PTPN22‐Mediated Dephosphorylation of NLRP3
In MASLD, YTHDC1 undergoes increased lactylation and ubiquitination, reducing its expression. AARS1 mediates lactylation at lysine 565, while disrupted binding to LDHA further promotes lactylation, suppressing YTHDC1. This downregulation enhances PTPN22 mRNA stability, leading to NLRP3 dephosphorylation and activation, which exacerbates inflammation ...

The proteasome lid triggers COP9 signalosome activity during the transition of Saccharomyces cerevisiae cells into quiescence. [PDF]
The class of Cullin–RING E3 ligases (CRLs) selectively ubiquitinate a large portion of proteins targeted for proteolysis by the 26S proteasome. Before degradation, ubiquitin molecules are removed from their conjugated proteins by deubiquitinating enzymes,

BioE is a new diiron oxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of long‐chain acyl groups into pimeloyl thioester, initiating biotin synthesis. The overexpression of EmBioE disrupts lipid metabolic homeostasis, requiring repressor BioL to maintain a balance between long‐chain fatty acids and biotin synthesis.
