A picopatch in a plasmonic nanocavity confines the electromagnetic energy to tiny effective volumes, close to 1nm3, leading to extreme electric field enhancements. Furthermore, a clear signature of strong coupling between the picopatch modes and other modes of the structure is obtained, which strongly modifies the far‐field response. ABSTRACT Plasmonic

Color Symmetry Breaking in a Nonlinear Optical Microresonator
A two‐color pump drives an integrated microring resonator into spontaneous color symmetry breaking mediated by the nonlinear Kerr effect. Above threshold, one optical color becomes spontaneously dominant while the other is submissive, with the selected output state emerging randomly. These results establish a new form of symmetry breaking in integrated

Remote‐controlled intracellular delivery is achieved using a plasmonic waveguide coated with a photoresponsive NO‐releasing MOF. Surface plasmon polariton propagation remotely induces photocleavage and localized nitric oxide release in a target single live cell without direct light exposure, while biological relevance is demonstrated through transient ...

Metal/Si Nanowire Arrays for Hot Electron Catalysis
Silicon nanowire arrays enhance plasmon‐driven catalysis by strengthening light–matter interactions on Au and Ag nanostructured coatings. Hotspot accessibility, rather than near‐field intensity alone, governs photocatalytic performance, while Ag nanoshells exhibit superior activity. The work establishes high‐surface‐area Si nanowire arrays as versatile

Scalable Room‐Temperature Terahertz Graphene Cameras
ABSTRACT Terahertz (THz) imaging has emerged as a powerful tool for non‐destructive, label‐free analysis across several scientific disciplines, ranging from materials science to biomedical research. By capturing the spatial‐dependent information in a broad range of frequencies, this technique enables the identification of chemical composition ...

Surface plasmon waveguide Schottky detector
A surface plasmon polariton detector is demonstrated at infra-red wavelengths. The device consists of a metal stripe on silicon forming a Schottky contact thereon and supporting surface a plasmon polariton mode that is strongly confined and localised to the metal-semiconductor interface.

Multichannel Transmission Through a Gold Strip Plasmonic Waveguide Embedded in Cytop
In this paper, we experimentally characterize a low-loss polymer-based plasmonic waveguide and present its system-level performance for transmitting multiple on-off keying modulated channels (4 × 49 Gb/s).
