The effect of pre-strain on micro-scale strain concentration of austenitic stainless steel (Investigation using digital image correlation method)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu
It is difficult to predict the earthquake loading so the effect of pre-strain on fatigue strength was required to investigate. Especially, surface shape was changed when large plastic strain was applied.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Research on the Accumulated Plastic Strain of Expansive Soil under Subway Loading

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2023
Expansive soil near Hefei Xinqiao International Airport was selected as the research focus. The effects of different loading modes on the dynamic strain of the saturated remodeled expansive soil was investigated by indoor dynamic triaxial tests and the ...

Reconstructing enzyme evolution by protein engineering

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Natural enzyme evolution can be retraced by protein engineering methods such as directed evolution, rational design, and ancestral sequence reconstruction. These approaches reveal how enzymes emerged from ligand‐binding scaffolds, developed varying substrate preferences, formed oligomeric complexes, adapted to environmental changes, and evolved novel ...

Heat Transfer and Thermo-Mechanical Analysis of Plastic-Strain Evolution in Laser-Welded Thin-Walled Laminated Cooling Plates with Non-Uniform Stiffness

open access: yesEnergies
Thin-walled laminated cooling plates integrate internal channels and pin-fin cores, producing reduced and spatially non-uniform stiffness that changes welding restraint and distortion. This study investigates stiffness-controlled plastic-strain evolution

Plastic deformation behavior and constitutive modeling of Cu-50Ta alloy during hot compression

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2022
This paper presents a study on plastic deformation behavior of Cu–50Ta alloy at temperatures of 286–473 K and strain-rate of 0.01–6200 s ^−1 . The effects of temperature, strain-rate, and strain on the yield strength, flow stress, and strain-rate ...

Quasistatic Nonassociative Plasticity at Finite Strains

open access: yesJournal of Nonlinear Science
We investigate finite-strain elastoplastic evolution in the nonassociative setting. The constitutive material model is formulated in variational terms and coupled with the quasistatic equilibrium system. We introduce measure-valued energetic solutions and prove their existence via a time discretization approach.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.
