The Agulhas Ridge, South Atlantic: the peculiar structure of a fracture zone [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
The Agulhas Ridge is a prominent topographic feature that parallels the Agulhas-Falkland Fracture Zone (AFFZ). Seismic reflection and wide angle/refraction data have led to the classification of this feature as a transverse ridge.

Temporal evolution of multiple evaporating ribbon sources in a solar flare [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We present new results from the Interface Region Imaging Spectrograph showing the dynamic evolution of chromospheric evaporation and condensation in a flare ribbon, with the highest temporal and spatial resolution to date.

Peering into the eye: A comprehensive look at ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) and its diagnostic value in anterior segment disorders

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2023
Background: Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) is a noninvasive imaging modality that enables in-vivo visualization of the structures of the anterior segment of the eye.

Using Anterior Segment Optical Coherence Tomography (ASOCT) Parameters to Determine Pupillary Block Versus Plateau Iris Configuration

open access: yesJournal of glaucoma, 2020
Supplemental Digital Content is available in the text. Précis: The potential parameters for differentiating pupillary block (PB) from plateau iris configuration (PIC) on anterior segment optical coherence tomography (ASOCT) are lens/pupil size parameters

Qualitative evaluation of anterior segment in angle closure disease using anterior segment optical coherence tomography

open access: yesJournal of Current Ophthalmology, 2016
Purpose: To evaluate different mechanisms of primary angle closure (PAC) and to quantify anterior chamber (AC) parameters in different subtypes of angle closure disease using anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT).

Evaluation of anterior chamber angle by van Herick grading and ultrasound biomicroscopy in light and dark conditions for finding appositional angle closure and plateau iris configuration

open access: yesActa ophthalmologica, 2020
To evaluate association of the van Herick (VH) grades with the ultrasound biomicroscopic (UBM) parameters, appositional irido‐trabecular contact (A‐ITC) and plateau iris (PI) in a randomly sampled population.

Medical and Surgical Treatment of Primary Angle Closure Glaucoma

open access: yesTürk Oftalmoloji Dergisi, 2012
Primary angle closure glaucoma occurs when pathologies in the relative/absolute sizes or positions of anterior segment structures or abnormal forces in the posterior segment structures apply pressure on the peripheral iris, causing iridocorneal angle ...

Plateau iris secondary to iridociliary cysts

open access: yesArchivos de la Sociedad Española de Oftalmología (English Edition), 2015
We present a case of plateau iris and glaucoma due to multiple unilateral iridociliary cysts. The patient was treated with iridotomy Nd: YAG laser and 360° iridoplasty, without achieving pressure control. Phacoemulsification improved the hypertension.
