Factorizations of almost simple groups with a factor having many nonsolvable composition factors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
This paper classifies the factorizations of almost simple groups with a factor having at least two nonsolvable composition factors. This together with a previous classification result of the authors reduces the factorization problem of almost simple groups to the case where both factors have a unique nonsolvable composition factor.

Loss of primary cilia promotes EphA2‐mediated endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in the ovarian tumor microenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of primary cilia in endothelial cells promotes EndMT and vascular abnormalities in the ovarian tumor microenvironment through EphA2 activation. Using human samples, in vitro models, and endothelial‐specific Kif3a‐knockout mice, we show that primary cilia loss drives the acquisition of cancer‐associated fibroblast‐like phenotypes, thereby ...

Effect of safflower yellow on platelet activating factor mediated platelet activation in patients with coronary heart disease

open access: yesBangladesh Journal of Pharmacology, 2012
The platelet aggregation and 5-HT release by washed platelet from coronary heart disease patients following platelet activating factor (PAF) treatment were detected by turbidimetry and O-phthalaldehyde assay.

Interaction of Platelet Activating Factor Acetyl Hydrolase (Paf Ah) Enzyme in Gln281 to Arg281 Mutation Toward Paf and Its Molecular Dynamic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Platelet Activating Factor Acetyl Hydrolase (PAF AH) or LpPLA2 is key enzyme in myocardial infarction catalyzes the sn-2 acetyl group of Platelet Activating Factor (PAF) into lyso PAF and acetate as non-potent inflammatory molecules.

Bioengineering facets of the tumor microenvironment in 3D tumor models: insights into cellular, biophysical and biochemical interactions

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The tumor microenvironment is a dynamic, multifaceted complex system of interdependent cellular, biochemical, and biophysical components. Three‐dimensional in vitro models of the tumor microenvironment enable a better understanding of these interactions and their impact on cancer progression and therapeutic resistance.

Food-specific serum IgG and symptom reduction with a personalized, unrestricted-calorie diet of six weeks in Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

open access: yesNutrition & Metabolism, 2020
Background Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a widespread disease with variable symptoms that have an important impact on the quality of life. Despite the prevalence of IBS, its etiology and pathophysiology are still to be fully understood, but immune ...

Eotaxin: a potent eosinophil chemoattractant cytokine detected in a guinea pig model of allergic airways inflammation. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Eosinophil accumulation is a prominent feature of allergic inflammatory reactions, such as those occurring in the lung of the allergic asthmatic, but the endogenous chemoattractants involved have not been identified.

The role of circular RNAs in regulating cytokine signaling in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cytokines present in the tumor microenvironment fuel cancer development. Aberrant expression of circRNAs contributes to cancer progression. Cytokines are involved in regulating circRNA biogenesis. Furthermore, aberrantly expressed circRNAs regulate the expression of ligands, receptors, and downstream effectors involved in cytokine signaling to promote ...

Plasma PAF-acetylhydrolase in patients with coronary artery disease: results of a cross-sectional analysis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2003
Inflammation underlies both onset and perpetuation of atherosclerosis. Plasma lipoproteins transport the platelet-activating factor-acetylhydrolase (PAF-AH) with potentially anti-inflammatory activities.

Some Results on Factorization of Monoids [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
Factorizations of monoids are studied. Two necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of so-called descent 1-cocyles for a monoid to be factorized through two submonoids are found. A full classification of those factorizations of a monoid whose one factor is a subgroup of the monoid is obtained.
