Peptide-Based Targeting of the Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Beta [PDF]
The aim of this work is to identify new ligands targeting the platelet-derived growth factor receptor beta (PDGFRβ).Biopanning was carried out with a 12-amino-acid phage display library against the recombinant extracellular domain of PDGFRβ. The identified peptide PDGFR-P1 was chemically synthesized and labeled with (125)I or (131)I.

Induction of platelet-derived growth factor alpha- and beta-receptor mRNA and protein by platelet-derived growth factor BB. [PDF]
We describe that stimulation of human fibroblasts with platelet-derived growth factor BB (PDGF-BB) induces a transient up-regulation of the PDGF alpha- and beta-receptor transcript and protein levels. The effect of PDGF-BB on the receptor transcript levels was more pronounced than those seen when other cytokines were used.

Biosynthesis and intracellular transport of the receptor for platelet-derived growth factor. [PDF]
The biosynthesis of the receptor for platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) was examined in metabolically labeled human foreskin fibroblasts. The receptor was synthesized as a 145-kDa precursor, which, when incubated with endo-beta-N-acetylglucosaminidase H (endo H), underwent a 15-kDa decrease in molecular mass. This indicates that the size of the core

Differential prognostic impact of platelet-derived growth factor receptor expression in NSCLC
Preclinical evidence suggests that stromal expression of platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs) stimulates tumor development and diminishes intratumoral drug uptake.

Eosinophilia is a common finding in the pediatric age group. While the majority of mild eosinophilia cases are benign and due to reactive causes, persistent hypereosinophilia is uncommon and requires prompt clinical evaluation because of the potential ...

Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor-β Expression in Human Peritoneum [PDF]
Introduction: Simple peritoneal fibrosis and encapsulating peritoneal sclerosis (EPS) are important lesions in the peritoneum of patients on peritoneal dialysis (PD). We have previously described a population of podoplanin-positive myofibroblasts in peritoneal biopsies from patients with EPS.

Postnatal Tendon Growth and Remodeling Requires Platelet-Derived Growth Factor Receptor Signaling [PDF]
ABSTRACTPlatelet-derived growth factor receptor (PDGFR) signaling plays an important role in the fundamental biological activities of many cells that compose musculoskeletal tissues. However, little is known about the role of PDGFR signaling during tendon growth and remodeling in adult animals.

Improved methods are needed for in situ characterization of post-translational modifications in cell lines and tissues. For example, it is desirable to monitor the phosphorylation status of individual receptor tyrosine kinases in samples from human ...

Imatinib is active in glioblastoma multiforme expressing platelet-derived growth factor receptor [PDF]
Objective: To report on 15 patients with recurrent anaplastic astrocytoma (AA) or glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) previously treated with standard therapies and, then, treated with imatinib.
