Distinct functions of integrin alpha and beta subunit cytoplasmic domains in cell spreading and formation of focal adhesions. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
Integrin-mediated cell adhesion often results in cell spreading and the formation of focal adhesions. We exploited the capacity of recombinant human alpha IIb beta 3 integrin to endow heterologous cells with the ability to adhere and spread on fibrinogen

Effect of Nanoparticle Distribution on Photothermal Absorption in Binary Mixtures of Colloidal Supraballs

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This work combines molecular dynamics and finite‐difference time‐domain computational approaches to study the photothermal properties of melanin nanoparticle–based supra‐assemblies. Based on the results of this study, the binary mixtures of melanin and silica with higher concentrations of melanin and with more segregated levels of mixing are able to ...

The complement binding-like domains of the murine homing receptor facilitate lectin activity. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The leukocyte homing receptor (HR), the endothelial leukocyte adhesion molecule, and gmp140/platelet activation-dependent granule membrane protein are members of a family of adhesion molecules, termed the lectin cell adhesion molecules (LEC-CAMS) which ...

Direct Access to α,β‐Unsaturated γ‐Lactams via Palladium‐Catalysed Carbonylation of Propargylic Ureas.

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 367, Issue 5, March 4, 2025.
Abstract Additive carbonylations typically necessitate strong nucleophiles, such as alcohols or amines. In this study, we carbonylated a poorly nucleophilic urea, under oxidant‐free conditions. Our straightforward carbonylative strategy enables access to versatile α,β‐unsaturated γ‐lactams featuring an aminocarbonyl fragment, utilizing readily ...

Printed Recyclable and Flexible Thermocouple Temperature Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Sensor Research, EarlyView.
Printed recyclable thermocouple sensors with low cost, easy processing, and compatibility with mass production are developed. Using re‐dissolvable polymeric binders, the printed sensors decompose without harsh treatments, while ferromagnetic Ni flakes enable efficient magnetic separation of materials.
