The Aging Blood: Cellular Origins, Circulating Drivers, and Therapeutic Potential
As a conduit linking all organs, the blood system both reflects and actively drives systemic aging. This review highlights how circulating pro‐aging and antiaging factors and age‐associated hematopoietic stem cell dysfunction contribute to immunosenescence and multi‐organ decline, positioning the hematopoietic system as a target for aging intervention.

Modulation of interferon-[alpha] secretion by activated platelets in systemic lupus erythematosus. [PDF]
Type I interferons play a key role in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) pathogenesis as an "IFN signature" is found in the majority of patients with active SLE.

Connectedness percolation of hard convex polygonal rods and platelets [PDF]
The properties of polymer composites with nanofiller particles change drastically above a critical filler density known as the percolation threshold. Real nanofillers, such as graphene flakes and cellulose nanocrystals, are not idealized disks and rods ...

Role of the NO-GC/cGMP signaling pathway in platelet biomechanics
Cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) is a second messenger produced by the NO-sensitive guanylyl cyclase (NO-GC). The NO-GC/cGMP pathway in platelets has been extensively studied. However, its role in regulating the biomechanical properties of platelets

Immunological platelet transfusion refractoriness: current insights from mechanisms to therapeutics
Although there have been tremendous improvements in the production and storage of platelets, platelet transfusion refractoriness (PTR) remains a serious clinical issue that may lead to various severe adverse events.
