Especially during rush hour traffic at traffic light regulated intersections, inefficient cycle plans and the increased demand raise the need for mechanisms that increase the traffic efficiency.

In this paper, we will discuss Daimler AG's implementation of a truck platoon. We will introduce our theoretical preparation as well as the practical implementation and results that we learnt during public road testing.

Platoon Formation: Optimized Car to Platoon Assignment Strategies and Protocols
