Printed Textile-Based Dry Electrodes for Impedance Plethysmography Measurements

2024 IEEE International Flexible Electronics Technology Conference (IFETC)
In this work, we report on the design, fabrication, and characterization of dry electrodes for the measurement of pulse plethysmography signals from distal arteries via electrical impedance.

Noninvasive Cuffless Blood Pressure Estimation Using Pulse Transit Time and Impedance Plethysmography

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2019
Objective: To demonstrate the feasibility of everaging impedance plethysmography (IPG) for detection of pulse transit time (PTT) and estimation of blood pressure (BP). Methods: We first established the relationship between BP, PTT, and arterial impedance

Low-Cost and Portable Impedance Plethysmography System for the Simultaneous Detection of Respiratory and Heart Activities

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2019
Impedance plethysmography is a technique that allows monitoring changes in the volume of specific tissues or organs inside the human body, through the measurement of variations in the bio-impedance between electrodes placed on the body surface.

Wrist Photo-Plethysmography and Bio-Impedance Sensor for Cuff-Less Blood Pressure Monitoring

Italian National Conference on Sensors, 2018
A multimodal wrist sensor system is proposed in this paper for a wearable reflectance photo-plethysmography (PPG) and impedance-plethysmography (IPG) biomedical data sensing.

Meaning of Impedance Plethysmography

Nature, 1967
IMPEDANCE plethysmography is a method of measuring the resistive impedance of a limb segment. Nyboer1 pointed out that the resistive impedance variation ΔR during the heart cycle is proportional to the blood volume ΔV transiently stored in the segment where ρ is the blood ...

Impedance Plethysmography: Correlation with Contrast Venography

Radiology, 1977
Impedance plethysmography is a noninvasive, indirect test for deep venous occlusion in the lower limbs. The results of ascending contrast venography impedance plethysmography have been compared in 315 limbs. Impedance plethysmography was positive in 77 of 79 limbs with acute deep vein thrombosis proximal to the calf.

IMPEDANCE PLETHYSMOGRAPHY IN STUDY OF PERIPHERAL CIRCULATION

Archives of Surgery, 1952
DIGITAL pulse volume studies have proved of great value in the study of the peripheral circulation. The methods most commonly used have the disadvantage that they necessitate placing the digit in an airtight or watertight cylindrical compartment. In most of them the tracings are recorded on photographic paper, and analysis of data must wait until the ...

Errors in four-electrode impedance plethysmography

Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing, 1983
The errors in electrical impedance plethysmography are not well known. In the paper errors due to inadequate instrumentation, improper electrode application, and physiological changes have been analysed. Minimum electrical requirements for a general purpose four-electrode instrument are: (a) input impedance of voltage-sensing circuit+4 kΩ; (b) output ...
