Deep learning‐based lung volume estimation with dynamic chest radiography

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Background Dynamic chest radiography (DCR) is a recently developed low‐dose pulmonary functional imaging method that can be performed in a general X‐ray room. DCR provides sequential images during respiration, and the measured changes in lung area are a promising diagnostic indicator of lung function.

Mitochondrial Transporter ABCB10 Protects Against Doxorubicin‐Induced Respiratory Muscle Dysfunction Independent of Changes to Diaphragm Accumulation

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Doxorubicin (DOX) is a highly effective chemotherapeutic agent whose use can cause respiratory toxicity, increasing patient fatigue and negatively impacting quality of life and survival. These adverse effects occur due to diaphragm muscle mitochondrial accumulation of DOX, where it causes reactive oxygen species production and iron ...

EbayesThresh: R Programs for Empirical Bayes Thresholding [PDF]

open access: yes
Suppose that a sequence of unknown parameters is observed sub ject to independent Gaussian noise. The EbayesThresh package in the S language implements a class of Empirical Bayes thresholding methods that can take advantage of possible sparsity in the ...

Evaluation of Skinfolds Based Predictive Equations for Estimating Body Fat Percentage in Older Adults: A Comparison Using Digital Adipometer (Lipowise) and Dual‐Energy X‐Ray Absorptiometry (DXA)

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Accurate assessment of body fat percentage (%BF) is essential for predicting health risks in older adults, as age‐related changes affect fat distribution and measurement accuracy. While dual‐energy x‐ray absorptiometry (DXA) is a standard reference, it is costly and less accessible.
