A Two‐Dimensional Plot of Cell Aggregates and Their Largest Nuclei Distinguishes Benign From Malignant Pleural Effusion Cytology Specimens

open access: yesCytopathology, Volume 37, Issue 4, Page 371-381, July 2026.
Scatter plots from all cases were categorized into four plot types. Cytologically negative cases mainly exhibited Small cluster (S‐type) and Horizontal (H‐type) patterns, whereas cytologically positive cases predominantly showed Vertical (V‐type) and Diagonal (D‐type) patterns.

Herpes Simplex Virus Hepatitis: An Overlooked Cause of Acute Liver Failure Across a Broad Spectrum of Immunocompromise

open access: yesLiver International, Volume 46, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Aims Herpes simplex virus (HSV) infection is common worldwide, but hepatic involvement is rare. HSV hepatitis is an uncommon yet frequently catastrophic cause of acute hepatitis and acute liver failure (ALF), accounting for < 1% of ALF cases while carrying very high mortality when diagnosis and antiviral therapy are delayed ...

Pyroptosis‐Inducing Engineered Microparticles for Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 31, 4 June 2026.
Engineered microparticles co‐delivering geldanamycin and dual nanobodies induce targeted pyroptosis and block PD‐L1 and CD47 pathways, reprogramming the tumor microenvironment and achieving potent antitumor immunity in lung cancer models with minimal toxicity.

A Three‐Step Diagnostic Strategy for Malignant Pleural Effusions

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT New diagnostic tools, such as high fluorescence cells (HFc) and tumor markers (TMs), have emerged in the quest to accurately diagnose malignant pleural effusion (MPE). This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of the HFc and TMs combination.

Development of a Risk Prediction Model for Bone Metastasis in Lung Adenocarcinoma With a T1 Primary Tumor Based on Intratumoral and Peritumoral Radiomics

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Bone metastasis significantly affects the prognosis of lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) patients. This study aims to construct and validate a risk prediction model for bone metastasis in LUAD with a T1 primary tumor based on intratumoral and peritumoral radiomics features.
