Platelet Compatibility of PLGA, Chitosan and PLGA–Chitosan Nanoparticles
Nanomedicine, 2009The increasing interest in biodegradable nanoparticles containing biomaterials such as poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) and chitosan for drug delivery raises issues regarding the blood compatibility of these nanoparticles, since some nanoparticles, including carbon nanoparticles, can affect human platelet aggregation and cause vascular thrombosis.

Adhesion of PLGA or Eudragit®/PLGA nanoparticles to Staphylococcus and Pseudomonas
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2008The aim of present study was to examine whether cationic Eudragit containing poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) nanoparticles can adhere to Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. In order to prepare fluorescent nanoparticles, fluorescein was covalently coupled to PLGA.

Effect of dose on the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of PLGA and PLGA–mPEG nanoparticles
International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2001The effect of nanoparticle dose on the biodistribution and pharmacokinetics of conventional PLGA and stealth poly(Lactide-co-glycolide)-monomethoxypoly(ethyleneglycol) (PLGA-mPEG) nanoparticles was investigated. The precipitation-solvent diffusion method was used to prepare PLGA and PLGA-mPEG nanoparticles labeled with 125I-cholesterylaniline.

This paper reports the influence of sequence structures of block copolymers composed of poly(lactic acid-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) on their thermogelling aqueous behaviors. A series of thermogelling PLGA-PEG-PLGA triblock copolymers with similar chemical compositions and block lengths but different sequences of D,L ...

ABSTRACTThermoresponsive, biodegradable polymeric hydrogel networks are used widely in medicinal applications. Poly(d,l‐lactic acid‐co‐glycolic acid)‐b‐poly(ethylene glycol)‐b‐poly(d,l‐lactic acid‐co‐glycolic acid) (PLGA‐PEG‐PLGA) triblock copolymers exhibit a sol–gel transition upon heating.

Release of rifampicin from chitosan, PLGA and chitosan-coated PLGA microparticles
Colloids and Surfaces B: Biointerfaces, 2008Recently three groups of rifampicin (RIF)-loaded microparticles (MPs), consisting of chitosan (CHT), PLGA and PLGA/CHT mixtures, were assessed in terms of RIF-loading and retention during nebulisation. The CHT-coated PLGA MPs were found to exhibit high RIF-loading ability together with nebulisation ability, stability, and mucoadhesive properties.

Synthesis and characterization of elastic PLGA/PCL/PLGA tri-block copolymers
Journal of Biomaterials Science, Polymer Edition, 2002Various ABA-type tri-block copolymers composed of poly(L-lactide) (PLA) or poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) as the side A block and poly(epsilon-caprolactone) (PCL) as the middle B block were synthesized to produce rapidly degrading elastic matrices useful for tissue engineering scaffolds.
