Transpositional Adipofascial Flaps for Complicated Acute Finger Injuries

open access: yesKaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, 2006
Seven patients who presented with complicated acute finger injuries were treated successfully with local transpositional adipofascial flaps. This is a one-stage procedure with advantages of simplicity and rapidity.

Underwriting corporate resilience via creativity: the pliability model

open access: yesTotal Quality Management & Business Excellence, 2013
This paper explores the concept of creativity within the context of a pliable ‘soft or hard’ organisational environment and analyses its efficacy in fostering corporate resilience. A review of the relevant literature on creativity is undertaken to investigate the concept of creativity and its impact on corporate resilience, and a pliability (fluidity ...

Fabrication of Multifunctional FeSi Gyroid Lattice Composites via Additive Manufacturing and Polymer Infiltration

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐step approach combining laser powder bed fusion of FeSi electrical steel with Bakelite infiltration enables the fabrication of multifunctional gyroid lattice composites. The resulting structures exhibit high strength, magnetic anisotropy, and complete polymer infiltration, demonstrating a simple and scalable route toward lightweight, mechanically

Strength of reinforced concrete structures under extreme mechanical impacts

open access: yesSt. Petersburg Polytechnical University Journal: Physics and Mathematics, 2019
The article deals with the issues of substantiation of the strength of reinforced concrete structures under extreme mechanical impacts. The focus is on the interaction of the outer containment and the heavy aircraft. Modern physical models and methods of

A comparison between the effectiveness of lycra and silon pressure garments for treatment of hypertrophic scar in burns [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Introduction Hypertrophic scarring after burns remains a major challenge for burn care providers. Pressure garments and silicone sheets have been the mainstay of hypertrophic scar treatment.

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Engineering Deformation and Failure in Diamond Triply Periodic Minimal Surface Lattices via 3D Wall‐Thickness Grading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The work demonstrates that strategic wall‐thickness grading in diamond triply periodic minimal surface lattices enables precise tuning of deformation and failure behavior under compression. Different gradation patterns guide how and where the structure collapses, improving energy absorption or promoting controlled brittle failure.

Data on evolution of intrinsically disordered regions of the human kinome and contribution of FAK1 IDRs to cytoskeletal remodeling

open access: yesData in Brief, 2017
We present data on the evolution of intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) taking into account the entire human protein kinome. The evolutionary data of the IDRs with respect to the kinase domains (KDs) and kinases as a whole protein (WP) are reported ...

Removing Homocoupling Defects in Alkoxy/Alkyl‐PBTTT Enhances Polymer:Fullerene Co‐Crystal Formation and Stability

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
PBTTT‐OR‐R, a C14‐alkoxy/alkyl‐PBTTT polymer derivative, is of substantial interest for optoelectronics due to its specific fullerene intercalation behavior and enhanced charge‐transfer absorption. Comparing this polymer with (S) and without (O) homocoupling defects reveals that PBTTT‐OR‐R(O) forms stable co‐crystals with PC61BM, while PBTTT‐OR‐R(S ...
