A urine‐based digital PCR assay targeting two hotspot TERT promoter variants detected bladder cancer with high sensitivity and no false positives in this case–control cohort. The streamlined AbsoluteQ workflow outperformed Sanger sequencing and supports non‐invasive molecular testing for bladder cancer detection.

Split-plot experiments with factor-dependent whole-plot sizes
Abstract: In industrial split-plot experiments, the number of runs within each whole plot is usually determined independently from the factor settings. As a matter of fact, it is often equal to the number of runs that can be done within a given period of time or to the number of samples that can be processed in one oven run or with one batch.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Optimum plot size for banana trials
Bananas (Musa spp. AAA group) are an important food and a source of income for farmers in tropical countries. Black sigatoka (Mycosphaerella fijiensis Morelet), a fungal leaf spot disease, is the major production constraint worldwide.

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Impact of live barriers on soil erosion in the Pairumani sub-catchment, Bolivia. [PDF]
Process-based soil erosion models, such as the European Soil Erosion Model (EUROSEM), have the potential for the extrapolation to the catchment scale of plot scale investigations into the effectiveness of soil conservation practices.
