Non‐Physical Barrier Design and Environmental Conditions Alter Routing and Survival of Juvenile Chinook Salmon (Oncorhynchus tshawytscha) in the Sacramento‐San Joaquin River Delta

open access: yesRiver Research and Applications, Volume 42, Issue 7, Page 1551-1561, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Pacific salmon face substantial challenges when migrating through anthropogenically modified river systems, such as the Sacramento‐San Joaquin River Delta (the Delta). Thermally Regulated Droplet Microfluidics Enables Uniform, Size‐Controllable DNA‐Nanoparticle Superlattices

open access: yesSmall, Volume 22, Issue 54, 25 September 2026.
Thermally regulated droplet microfluidics enables controlled assembly of DNA‐functionalized gold nanoparticles into uniform, size‐controllable superlattice crystals. Monodisperse droplets formed at elevated temperature suppress premature hybridization, followed by ultra‐slow cooling to promote near‐equilibrium growth.

Access Denied: A Critical Review of Water Service Shutoffs Under Financialized Capitalism

open access: yesWIREs Water, Volume 13, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
A visual metaphor of water shutoffs (Image source: Plumbing Poverty project). ABSTRACT The denial of household access to running water through service shutoffs is a common practice among water providers, yet the scope and nature of the problem remain poorly understood.
