Rheology and morphology of Pluronic F68 in water

Physics of Fluids, 2021
We investigated the morphological transitions of aqueous solutions of Pluronic F68 induced by temperature and polymer concentration by means of rheological and x-ray measurements. We adopted a rheological method to evaluate the characteristic equilibrium temperatures associated with the transition from unimers to spherical micelles and from disordered ...

Influence of pluronic F68 on oxygen mass transfer

Biotechnology Progress, 2013
Pluronic F68 is one of the most used shear protecting additives in cell culture cultivations. It is well known from literature that such surface‐active surfactants lower the surface tension at the gas‐liquid interface, which influences the mass transfer. In this study, the effect of Pluronic F68 on oxygen mass transfer in aqueous solutions was examined.

Effect of pluronic F68 block copolymer on P-glycoprotein transport and CYP3A4 metabolism

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2008
The aim of this work was to investigate the effects of pluronic F68 block copolymer on the P-gp-mediated transport of celiprolol (CEL) and CYP3A4-mediated formation of midazolam (MDZ) metabolite 1'-hydroxymidazolam. Over a range from 0.03 to 0.3%, pluronic F68 increased apical-to-basolateral permeability (AP-BL) and decreased basolateral-to-apical ...

Colloidal stability of Pluronic F68-coated PLGA nanoparticles: A variety of stabilisation mechanisms

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2006
Poloxamers are a family of polypropylene oxide (PPO) and polyethylene oxide (PEO) tri-block copolymers that are usually employed in the micro- and nanoparticulate engineering for drug delivery systems. The aim of this work is to study the electrophoretic mobility (mu(e)) and colloidal stability of complexes formed by adsorbing a poloxamer (Pluronic F68)

TPGS-g-PLGA/Pluronic F68 mixed micelles for tanshinone IIA delivery in cancer therapy

International Journal of Pharmaceutics, 2014
Tanshinone IIA (TAN) has few clinical applications for anti-cancer therapy mainly due to its high lipophicity, low cellular uptake, and poor bioavailability. To improve the anti-cancer effect and bioavailability of TAN, we developed a mixed micelle system constituted with D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol succinate-graft-poly(D,L-lactide-co-glycolide)

Delaying lipid digestion through steric surfactant Pluronic F68: A novel in vitro approach

Food Research International, 2010
Abstract The objective of this study was to investigate and compare the lipolysis rate of emulsions stabilized with two surfactants of a markedly different nature: an ionic mixture of phospholipids and the almost purely steric surfactant Pluronic F68.

Reduction of splenic vascular resistance during perfusion by pluronic F68

Journal of Surgical Research, 1968
Abstract Pluronic F68 (a nonionic surface-active agent) has been shown to decrease the vascular resistance in a series of 10 pig spleens perfused with human blood. Addition of Pluronic F68 produced a vascular resistance during heterologous perfusion comparable to that noted during homologous perfusion.

Effect of pluronic-F68 on the development of tumor metastasis

Cancer, 1972
Walker 256 tumor cells were administered intravenously to rats. Treatment with PLF68 decreased the incidence of pulmonary metastasis, probably secondary to its effect on coagulation.

Influence of Pluronic® F68 on Ceftazidime Biological Activity in Parenteral Solutions

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2011
β-Lactam antimicrobials are known to have a low concentration/therapeutic response. However, extending the period in which β-lactam are free in the plasma does directly influence therapeutic outcomes. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of Pluronic® F68 on the antimicrobial activity of ceftazidime when admixed with aminophylline ...
