Diffuse critical point in PLZT ceramics
EPL (Europhysics Letters), 2013The ferroelectric transition line in the electric-field temperature phase diagram of the canonical relaxor ferroelectric ceramics 9/65/35 PLZT has been studied via polarization and high-resolution heat capacity measurements. The modified calorimetric relaxation measurements show a change of the sample temperature if the applied electric field is ...

Far infrared properties of PLZT ceramics
Journal of Materials Science, 1997Far infrared and mid infrared reflectivity measurements have been made of lead titanate zirconate (PLZT) ceramics at room temperature in the frequency range 40–1500 cm-1. Kramers-Kronig analysis and a fitting procedure based on a four parameter model of the spectrum, determined the infrared active transverse and longitudinal optical modes and their ...

Photostrictive Actuator Using PLZT Ceramics
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1985Photostriction explainable by the superposition of the bulk photovoltaic effect and piezoelectricity has been investigated in the solid solution ceramics of (Pb, La)(Zr, Ti)O3. Using the optimum composition PLZT(3/52/48), we have fabricated a photodriven relay as a trial photostrictive actuator.

Evaluation of PLZT ceramics for applications in optical communications
Optics Communications, 1972Abstract An evaluation is made to determine the suitability of fine grained ferroelectric ceramic Pb 0.91 La 0.09 Zr 0.65 Ti 0.35 O 3 (PLZT) for applications in optical modulators. It was found that the electro-optic materials and comparisons of the electrode geometries suitable for ceramics and for single crystals are made.

Asymmetry of electroconductivity in polarized plzt ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1986Asymmetry of electroconductivity in PLZT X/65/35 ferroelectric ceramics has been observed. The density of steady-state current for one direction of field applied along the remanent polarization was 2-5 times larger than the current density in the opposite field direction.

Elastic Properties of Rhombohedral PLZT Ceramics
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1989Elastic compliance constants, elastic stiffness constants, electro-mechanical coupling coefficients, mechanical losses and thermal expansion coefficients have been obtained for lanthanum doped lead zirconate-titanate ceramics having composition of (X/65/35) with X=1 to 7.5 (abbreviated to rhombohedral PLZT) over a temperature range including the ...

Grain boundary structures in plzt ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1989Abstract Some possible atomic structural models of the grain boundary in PLZT transparent ferroelectric ceramics were constructed according to the HREM image photomicrographs taken near the grain boundary from a high resolution electron microscope. These models give not only a clear picture of the grain boundary structure in PLZT ceramics, but can also

Holographic Storage in Quadratic PLZT Ceramics
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 1974Photoinduced changes in refractive index in a quadratic electrooptic PLZT ceramic were observed. Thick‐phase holograms were recorded with high diffraction efficiency (η∼ 0.10 to 0.50). The dependencies of the diffraction efficiency on the density of light energy and applied field were determined.

Domain Structure in Relaxor PLZT Ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 2006This paper presents the study of ceramic Pb1-3x/2 Lax (Zr1-y Tiy)O3, x/80/20 and x/70/ 30 solid solutions, where x = 6, 8 and 10%, which show a relaxor behavior with diffuse phase transition. It was possible to observe clusters of nanoregions characteristic of relaxors by means of polarized light microscopy using a lambda plate, which improves the ...
