Electrocaloric effect in PLZT ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1986The electrocaloric effect in rhombohedral PLZT ceramics is studied as function of applied field and temperature. The results obtained are consistent with the general idea of the existence of an intermediate state of mixed polar and nonpolar regions in the interval of the diffuse phase transition.

Polymorphism and penferroelectricity in PLZT ceramics
Proceedings of the IEEE, 1973The interaction of structure with optical and electrical properties in lanthanum-doped lead zirconate-titanate (PLZT) ceramics is complex. An interpretation is presented which shows the critical dependence of structure and, hence, properties on the state of polarization, the temperature, and the La content.

Elastic properties of PLZT ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1989Abstract The elastic properties of PLZT ceramics have been measured in a wide temperature range from 78 up to 800°K. The common features of the temperature behavior of elastic moduli have been found for all ferroelectrics with diffuse phase transition.

Television applications of PLZT ceramics

Abstract PLZT compositions 8/80/20, 10/75/25 and 12/70/30 were modified by the replacement of Pb by 5Ba + 5Ca, 2Ba + 3Ca, and 2.5Ba + 1Ca (%) respectively to yield optimum dielectric properties: ϵRT = 2000-2900, ϵmax = 2200-2900, ΔC/C = ± 8% when a DC bias field of 40 KV/cm is applied. The data suggest that the compositions are biphasic in nature.

Stereoscopic viewing with PLZT ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1976Abstract A new electro-optic shutter viewing device is described for use with stereoscopic real-time television and computer-driven CRT display systems. The high speed electronic shutters employ lead lanthanum zirconate titanate (PLZT) ferroelectric ceramics.

Optical bistability in PLZT ceramics
Ferroelectrics, 1997Abstract Optical bistability in PLZT ceramics due to the Ar+ laser induced heating and changes of the optical thickness of a plane parallel PLZT plate (behaving as the Fabry-Perot cavity) is observed. Such PLZT ceramics plate is used also as an extracavity laser mirror. Thermooptical tuning of the mirror causes a non-liner behaviour of such system.

Are PLZT ceramics “superparaelectric” compounds?
Ferroelectrics, 1994Abstract X-ray diffraction, Raman scattering and dielectric susceptibility experiments have been performed on PLZT 9/65/35 as a function of temperature. The correlation function of the polarization is shown to increase when the temperature is decreased from 800 K, but the system freezes before achieving a long range ferroelectric order.
