Targeting ferroptosis by poly(acrylic) acid coated Mn3O4 nanoparticles alleviates acute liver injury

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Ferroptosis, a newly characterized form of regulated cell death, is induced by excessive accumulation of lipid peroxidation catalyzed by intracellular bioactive iron.

Tween 85-Modified Low Molecular Weight PEI Enhances Exon-Skipping of Antisense Morpholino Oligomer In Vitro and in mdx Mice

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2017
We investigated a series of Tween 85 modified low molecular weight polyethylenimine (LPEI, 0.8k/1.2k/2.0k)-copolymers (Zs) through simple formulation and covalent conjugation with phosphorodiamidate morpholino oligomer (PMO) for their potential to ...

Validation of revised patient measures of safety: PMOS-30 and PMOS-10 [PDF]

open access: yesBMJ Open, 2019
ObjectivesThere is growing evidence that patients can provide feedback on the safety of their care. The 44-item Patient Measure of Safety (PMOS) was developed for this purpose. While valid and reliable, the length of this questionnaire makes it potentially challenging for routine use. Our study aimed to produce revised, shortened versions of PMOS (PMOS-

Investigating synthetic oligonucleotide targeting of miR31 in Duchenne muscular dystrophy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Exon-skipping via synthetic antisense oligonucleotides represents one of the most promising potential therapies for Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD), yet this approach is highly sequence-specific and thus each oligonucleotide is of benefit to only a ...

Polyquaternium-mediated delivery of morpholino oligonucleotides for exon-skipping in vitro and in mdx mice

open access: yesDrug Delivery, 2017
Antisense oligonucleotide therapy for Duchenne muscular dystrophy has shown great potential in preclinical and clinical trials, but its therapeutic applications are still limited due to inefficient delivery.

Theory of nonlinear phononics for coherent light-control of solids

open access: yes, 2014
We present a microscopic theory for ultrafast control of solids with high-intensity terahertz frequency optical pulses. When resonant with selected infrared-active vibrations, these pulses transiently modify the crystal structure and lead to new ...

Selective Confinement by a COF‐Derived Sub‐Nanoporous Interface for High‐Performance CoF2 Thermal Battery Cathodes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dissolution and shuttling of TMF cathodes hinders high‐voltage thermal batteries. A novel selective confinement strategy using a sub‐nanoporous COF‐derived carbon interface (0.54 nm pores) on CoF2 suppresses cathode material shuttling. Size‐selective confinement blocks large dissolved ions (∼0.8 nm) while allowing Li⁺ passage, enhancing thermal battery
