PMU-Based ROCOF Measurements: Uncertainty Limits and Metrological Significance in Power System Applications

open access: yes, 2019
In modern power systems, the Rate-of-Change-of-Frequency (ROCOF) may be largely employed in Wide Area Monitoring, Protection and Control (WAMPAC) applications. However, a standard approach towards ROCOF measurements is still missing.

Low‐Temperature Processed Optoelectronic Synapses With Enhanced Responsivity for Edge‐Oriented In‐Sensor Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Image pixels are converted into optical pulse sequences to stimulate the optoelectronic synaptic device, generating dynamic responses that form high‐dimensional features. These features improve classification efficiency and demonstrate strong potential for neuromorphic edge computing systems.

A method exploiting direct communication between phasor measurement units for power system wide-area protection and control algorithms

open access: yesMethodsX, 2017
Synchrophasor measurements from Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) are the primary sensors used to deploy Wide-Area Monitoring, Protection and Control (WAMPAC) systems. PMUs stream out synchrophasor measurements through the IEEE C37.118.2 protocol using TCP/

PMUS-HOSGD tensor decomposition method and its application in tag recommendation [PDF]

open access: yesJisuanji gongcheng, 2018
The current label recommended system uses tensors to store “user-resource-label” three-dimensional data, mining the potential semantic association among the three. In order to solve the sparseness problem of three-dimensional data and avoid the data ...

Concurrently Achieving 4.6 W/M2 and 120,000 Cyclability Enabled by Extendable Swing Arms in Rotational Triboelectric Nanogenerator

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A rotational energy harvesting device that successfully reconciles high power density with mechanical durability through a hybrid sliding‐and‐bouncing kinematic mechanism is reported. The success reported in our paper includes addressing a dilemma where enhanced electrical output comes at the cost of increased friction and wear, limiting the practical ...

False Data Injection Attacks on Phasor Measurements That Bypass Low-rank Decomposition

open access: yes, 2017
This paper studies the vulnerability of phasor measurement units (PMUs) to false data injection (FDI) attacks. Prior work demonstrated that unobservable FDI attacks that can bypass traditional bad data detectors based on measurement residuals can be ...

Tunable Dynamics via Dual‐Ion Modulation for Event‐based Data Processing Using a Highly Uniform and Self‐Rectifying Memristor Array

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Tunable dynamics of an interface‐type memristor array enabled by dual‐ion modulation through Ag nanoclusters are demonstrated. A 32 × 32 one‐resistor (1R) array exhibits 100% yield with high temporal/spatial uniformity (<3%) and a rectification ratio of 105.

Globally optimal phasor measurement unit placement using branch and bound algorithm

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2021
This paper presents a new global optimal Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) placement approach based on branch and bound algorithm. The proposed technique provides the global minimum number and locations of PMUs for any power system.
