Frontiers in EEG as a tool for the management of pediatric epilepsy: Past, present, and future

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Electroencephalography (EEG) has evolved into an indispensable tool in pediatric epilepsy, fundamentally transforming the diagnosis, classification, and management of this condition. This review chronicles the historical journey of EEG from its groundbreaking inception to its current pivotal role in delineating distinct pediatric epilepsy ...

ENCEVIS: Evaluating the feasibility of an AI‐based algorithm as an assistant to neurophysiologists in clinical practice

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective This study evaluated the performance of the ENCEVIS artificial intelligence (AI)‐based algorithm as a screening tool to predict the presence of ictal and/or interictal epileptiform discharges (IEDs) in electroencephalography (EEG) recordings.

PNe Abundances: Galactic Bulge versus the Disc [PDF]

open access: yesAstrophysics and Space Science, 2001
We compare the abundances of He, N, O, Ar, S, and Ne, determined in a similar way, for a sample of Galactic bulge and disc planetary nebulae (PNe). We find that in all aspects — average abundances and dispersion, distribution functions, abundance relationships, and the ratio of N/O — the bulge and disc PNe are indistinguishable.

Polypharmacy burden and incident epilepsy among older adults in the United States

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Objectives To estimate the prevalence of polypharmacy among older adults with incident epilepsy and to describe the most common combinations of drug classes filled prior to epilepsy diagnosis. Polypharmacy—the concurrent use of multiple medications—is common in older adults with epilepsy, but little is known about its burden and specific ...

WORKPLANS: Workshop on Planetary Nebula Observations

open access: yesGalaxies, 2020
This workshop is the second of the WORKPLANS series, which we started in 2016. The main goal of WORKPLANS is to build up a network of planetary nebulae (PNe) experts to address the main open questions in the field of PNe research.

Further offshoring, nearshoring, and reshoring: Exploring the role of experience

open access: yesGlobal Strategy Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary This study examines the role of firms' experience in shaping strategic decisions to relocate offshored activities. Adopting an experiential learning perspective, we test the influence of two types of experience—international production experience and reshoring experience—on the choice of relocating to another foreign country ...

Axially Symmetric Dynamics of PNe [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1993
Following Kahn & West (1985), we investigate the formation of PNe in the slow and fast wind interaction scheme by assuming the slow wind axially symmetric. We have further assumed that the mass loss rate for the slow wind is not steady. It is found that the final morphology of the nebula depends not only upon the initial degrees of the seed ...

Analysis of the Elastic Behavior of Selected Types of Plastic Materials Used in 3D Printing

open access: yesMacromolecular Symposia, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article analyzes the elastic behavior of 3D printed plastic materials, using FDM technology, to understand how they react to mechanical compressive stresses and to determine the limits of reversible deformation. In this research, a series of compression tests were performed on specimens made of five types of plastics: ABS (acrylonitrile ...
