Polymers for Advanced Technologies, 2015
This work aims to evaluate the cytocompatibility and hemocompatibility of thermo‐responsive polymers as potential drug carrier. Thermo‐responsive poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAm) and poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide)‐poly(l‐lactide)‐poly(N‐isopropyl acrylamide) (PNIPAAm‐PLLA‐PNIPAAm) triblock copolymer were synthesized by atom transfer radical ...

Tailoring the LCST of PNIPAAM‐b‐PLA‐b‐PNIPAAM Triblock Copolymers via Stereocomplexation
Macromolecular Rapid Communications, 2013Poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide)‐block‐poly(l‐lactic acid)‐block‐poly(N‐isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAM‐b‐PLLA‐b‐PNIPAAM) and PNIPAAM‐b‐PDLA‐b‐PNIPAAM triblock copolymers with varying polylactic acid (PLA) lengths are synthesized using a combination of ring‐opening polymerization and atom‐transfer radical polymerization.

Thermosensitive polymeric vesicles self-assembled by PNIPAAm-b-PPG-b-PNIPAAm triblock copolymers
Colloid and Polymer Science, 2004PNIPAAm-b-PPG-b-PNIPAAm triblock copolymers were prepared by redox polymerization. The self-assembly behavior and thermosensitive property of the copolymers in water were studied using 1H-NMR, TEM and a UV spectrophotometer. The results showed that the LCST of the copolymers was 32 °C, which was consistent with that of pure PNIPAAm.

Grafting PNIPAAm from β-barrel shaped transmembrane nanopores
Biomaterials, 2016The research on protein-polymer conjugates by grafting from the surface of proteins has gained significant interest in the last decade. While there are many studies with globular proteins, membrane proteins have remained untouched to the best of our knowledge.

A series of well-defined thermoresponsive ABA-type triblock copolymers poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)-b-poly(n-octadecylacrylate)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm-b-PODA-b-PNIPAAm) consisting of two blocks of PNIPAAm and one block of PODA in different ratio are prepared via reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization.

Peptide–PNIPAAm conjugate based hydrogels: synthesis and characterisation
Soft Matter, 2011Thermo-responsive PNIPAAm rich hydrogels with controllable properties have been prepared by introducing small quantities of peptide-PNIPAAm bioconjugates where the peptide self-assembled into a β-sheet rich fibrillar network. This was achieved in a one pot synthesis using a thiol-modified peptide as the chain-transfer agent in the free radical ...

Preparation of thermosensitive PNIPAAm hydrogels with superfast response
Chemical Communications, 2004A simple, effective strategy was developed and demonstrated to prepare thermosensitive poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAAm) hydrogel with a superfast response by using an organic solvent, tetrahydrofuran (THF), as a foaming agent as well as a precipitation agent during the polymerization/crosslinking in water at room temperature.

Thermo‐Responsive PNIPAAm Copolymers with Hydrophobic Spacers
Macromolecular Symposia, 2007AbstractWe have synthesised and characterised three sets of acryloyl(amino‐acid)/NIPAAm co‐polymers. Three different co‐monomers were synthesised and copolymerized with N‐isopropylacrylamide (NIPAAm) by free radical polymerization in different molar ratios (12:1, 9:1, and 6:1). All series contain aliphatic spacers and are carboxylic terminated.
