A number of surveys were carried out in the main stone fruit growing areas of Malatya, Elazig, Igdir, Erzincan and Erzurum provinces of East Anatolia (Turkey) for the detection of Prunus necrotic ringspot (PNRSV) and Apple chlorotic leaf spot (ACLSV) viruses. A total number of 1451 samples were tested by ELISA (1319 apricot, 97 cherry, 17 peach, 9 plum

Elimination of PPV and PNRSV through thermotherapy and meristem-tip culture in nectarine
The plum pox virus (PPV) and prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) cause serious disease problems in stone-fruit trees. In this work, the possibility of obtaining plant material free from these viruses through thermotherapy and meristem-tip culture from infected nectarine shoots (Prunus persica var. nectarina Max, cv. 'Arm King') was studied.

Studies on Prunus Necrotic Ringspot Virus (PNRSV) Occurring on Lily
Agricultural Sciences in China, 2007This study was to molecular identify Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) occurring on lily. Lily corms were randomly selected and grown in the greenhouse. The total RNAs were extracted from younger leaves, and partial amplification of the CP gene was performed by RT-PCR with primer pairs specific for PNRSV.

Prunus necrotic ringspot virus (PNRSV) is an important virus of stone fruit trees (Prunus sp.). In this study, complete genomic sequences of five PNRSV isolates from P. persica (Pea1 and Pea4), P. avium (Che1 and Che2) and P. cerasifera (P.cerasifera1) in Inner Mongolia of China were determined and analyzed together with other previously published ...

A comparative analysis of the ACLSV, ASPV, PNRSV, PPV frequency occurrence in the fruit crops plantations of RUE “Institute of Fruit-growing” for 2016–2020 period was carried out. ACLSV diagnostics (484 apple-tree samples, 129 pear samples) made it possible to establish that the virus is more common on the apple-tree (33.5 % of infected ...

Polymorphism of heterologous duplexes of RNA transcripts of prunus necrotic ringspot virus isolates was studied at different temperatures of electrophoresis. Duplexes made from complementary RNA transcripts originating from four virus isolates differed in their electrophoretic mobilities.

Virus-induced gene silencing (VIGS) is a gene silencing mechanism by which an invading virus targets and silences the endogenous genes that have significant sequence similarity with the virus. It opens the door for us to develop viruses as powerful viral vectors and modify them for molecular characterization of gene functions in plants. In the past two
