Enhanced expression of podoplanin in ameloblastomas
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 2010Podoplanin, a mucin-type transmembrane glycoprotein, is specifically expressed by lymphatic but not blood vascular endothelial cells, and is also widely expressed in various specialized cell types throughout the body. Recent studies have demonstrated that it mediates a pathway leading to collective cell migration and invasion in vivo and in vitro.

Monoclonal Antibodies in Immunodiagnosis & Immunotherapy, 2018
Podoplanin (PDPN) is expressed in type I alveolar cells of the lungs, lymphatic endothelial cells, and podocytes of the kidneys, and induces platelet aggregation through the C-type lectin-like receptor-2. PDPNs of various animal species have been characterized using specific anti-PDPN monoclonal antibodies (mAbs).

Anti-Bovine Podoplanin Monoclonal Antibody PMab-44 Detects Goat Podoplanin in Immunohistochemistry
Monoclonal Antibodies in Immunodiagnosis & Immunotherapy, 2019Podoplanin (PDPN) is expressed in type I alveolar cells, kidney podocytes, and lymphatic endothelial cells. We have characterized the PDPNs of various animal species using specific anti-PDPN monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). In this study, we investigated whether these anti-PDPN mAbs cross-react with goat PDPN (gPDPN).

Detection of Tiger Podoplanin Using the Anti-Cat Podoplanin Monoclonal Antibody PMab-52
Monoclonal Antibodies in Immunodiagnosis & Immunotherapy, 2018Podoplanin (PDPN) is expressed in type I alveolar cells of lung but not in type II alveolar cells. PDPN is also known as a specific lymphatic endothelial cell marker because PDPN is not expressed in vascular endothelial cells. PDPNs of several animals have been characterized using specific anti-PDPN monoclonal antibodies (mAbs): PMab-1, PMab-2, PMab-32,

Expression of podoplanin in the mouse salivary glands
Archives of Oral Biology, 2008Podoplanin is one of the most highly expressed lymphatic-specific genes. Here, we report the distribution of cells expressing podoplanin in mouse salivary glands. We immunohistochemically investigated the distribution of cells expressing podoplanin in mouse major salivary glands by laser-scanning microscopy.

Expression of podoplanin and prognosis in oropharyngeal cancer
European Archives of Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, 2014It has been shown that podoplanin expression is associated with carcinoma of the aerodigestive tract. Recent studies indicate that podoplanin may serve as a prognostic biomarker in oral carcinoma. In order to provide evidence on the role of podoplanin in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma, we evaluated the prognostic impact of podoplanin in these ...

Src and podoplanin forge a path to destruction
Drug Discovery Today, 2019Cancer and arthritis present an enormous challenge to society. They share pathogenic pathways that involve extracellular matrix degradation, tissue invasion, and inflammation. Most cancer and arthritis treatments affect normal cell function to cause significant adverse effects in patients. Specific pathways that promote cancer and arthritis progression

The role of podoplanin in cancer-associated thrombosis
Thrombosis Research, 2018Venous thromboembolism (VTE) is a frequent and life-threatening complication in patients with cancer. The underlying mechanisms of cancer-associated VTE are still not completely understood. However, emerging studies indicate that the mechanisms differ across tumor types.

Podoplanin: A Novel Diagnostic Immunohistochemical Marker
Advances in Anatomic Pathology, 2006Podoplanin is a transmembrane mucoprotein recognized by the recently commercially available D2-40 monoclonal antibody. Recent investigations have shown that podoplanin is selectively expressed in lymphatic endothelium as well as lymphangiomas, Kaposi sarcomas, and in a subset of angiosarcomas with probable lymphatic differentiation. Podoplanin has also
