Male polymorphism inLimia perugiae (Pisces: Poeciliidae)
The male-polymorphic poeciliid fish, Limia perugiae, a small teleostean endemic to the southeast of the Caribbean island Hispañola, consists of three male size morphs with uniform females. Large males differentiate at a size varying between 25 and 38 mm; intermediate males, between 21 and 25 mm.

Extremophile Poeciliidae:multivariate insights into the complexity of speciation along replicated ecological gradients [PDF]
BackgroundReplicate population pairs that diverge in response to similar selective regimes allow for an investigation of (a) whether phenotypic traits diverge in a similar and predictable fashion, (b) whether there is gradual variation in phenotypic ...

Ecological, evolutionary and human-mediated determinants of poeciliid species richness on Caribbean islands [PDF]
Aim: The theory of island biogeography provides a predictive framework relating species richness to island size and distance from the mainland. However, the theory as originally formulated does not necessarily scale to large islands and continental ...
