Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

A Correlation-Regression Statistics: Predicting Uniaxial Compressive Strength from Point Load Index for Hydrothermal Clay Materials

open access: yes
This study addressed the difficulty of determining uniaxial compressive strength in hydrothermally altered breccia, where preparing intact core samples was not feasible. A field-based approach using point load index measurements was adopted to provide an

Factor influencing point load tests on concrete [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
peer reviewedThe main purpose of this paper is to predict the in-situ compressive strength of concrete by means of point load strength test (PLT) as a partially destructive test method.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

ANALISIS KORELASI ANTARA UNIAXIAL COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH DAN POINT LOAD INDEX PADA BATUGAMPING DI PANTAI NGRUMPUT YOGYAKARTA

open access: yes, 2021

Reliability based assessment of reinforced concrete columns under eccenric loads using refined first-order reliability method [PDF]

open access: yesNumerical Methods in Civil Engineering
This paper presents an efficient approach for the failure probability assessment of reinforced concrete (RC) columns under the combination of the gravity and seismic loads considering uncertainty in the load eccentricity.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...

Dynamic Resource Management in 802.11 Wireless Mesh Networks

open access: yesJournal of Computer Networks and Communications, 2012
The association/handoff procedures are important components in a balanced operation of 802.11-based wireless mesh networks. In this paper, we introduce the concept of cooperative association where the stations (STA) can share useful information in order ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...
