Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

Effect of Indenter Angle on Bearing Performance of Coal and Accompanying Rocks Under Point Load and Characterization of Mechanical Parameters

open access: yesEnergy Science & Engineering
Coal, mudstone, sandstone, and limestone, which are common in coal mines, were selected as research objects, and 60°, 90°, and 120° indenters were used to conduct point load tests to study the deformation and failure laws of rocks under point loads. This

Point Load Test of Half-Cylinder Core Using the Numerical Model and Laboratory Tests: Size Suggestion and Correlation with Cylinder Core

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2018
The point load test (PLT) is intended as an index test for rock strength classification or estimations of other strength parameters because it is economical and simple to conduct in the laboratory and in field tests.

Factors influencing economic aspects of operation of tractor machines aggregations

open access: yesActa Universitatis Agriculturae et Silviculturae Mendelianae Brunensis, 2004
An appropriate additional load of driving wheels is very important for an efficient use of engine output. This additional load influences significantly the driving momentum and, thus, the pulling efficiency of the tractor. This pulling force is dependent

Point load strength of granodiorites from the Plana pluton

open access: yesEngineering Geology and Hydrogeology, 2018
The studied area is located in the southeast parts of the Plana Mountain. It is built up of Plana diorite pluton, represented by granodiorites, quartz-diorites and quartz-monzonites, which is located among the older (Precambrian) metamorphic rocks (gneisses, amphibolites, schists and fillites).

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 regulates cell adhesion and membrane protrusive activity of ovarian cancer cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Stress-State-Based Failure Analysis and Modeling of UHPC Columns Confined with High-Strength Spiral Stirrups

open access: yesBuildings
This study investigated the failure mechanism and load-bearing capacity of ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) columns confined with high-strength spiral stirrups under axial compression. Based on tests of 75 specimens, a structural stability analysis

Cyclic loadings on steel and lightweight concrete composite beams [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This communication describes the experimental cyclic tests performed on steel and high strength lightweight concrete composite beams, at Universidade do Minho, Portugal. The experimental study involves tests on simply supported beams, all with the same

Updated relations for the uniaxial compressive strength of marlstones based on P-wave velocity and point load index test

open access: yesInnovative Infrastructure Solutions, 2016
Although there are many proposed relations for different rock types to predict the uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) as a function of P-wave velocity (VP) and point load index (Is), only a few of them are focused on marlstones.
