Next‐Generation Carbon‐Based Anodes for Alkali Metal‐Ion Batteries: Recent Progress on Biphenylene and Emerging Materials

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
Recent advances in carbon‐based anodes for alkali metal‐ion batteries are critically reviewed, with emphasis on biphenylene and other emerging carbon allotropes. Biphenylene exhibits exceptional theoretical electrochemical properties beyond conventional graphite, highlighting its strong potential as a next‐generation anode material once scalable ...

Time‐Variant Seismic Fragility of Reinforced Concrete Bridge Piers Considering Degradation Phenomena

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aging and environmental exposure progressively deteriorate the physical and mechanical properties of construction materials, thereby affecting the safety and functionality of existing infrastructure. Corrosion of steel rebars in reinforced concrete structures is widely acknowledged as the most common and detrimental degradation phenomenon, as ...

Development and Validation of a Seismic Design Method for Anchored Retaining Walls

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Retaining walls with multiple anchor levels are widely used as permanent excavation support systems for the construction of linear infrastructures. Yet, their seismic behaviour remains largely unexplored, and current design approaches rely on conventional procedures that do not adequately reflect the actual dynamic response of these systems ...

Study on Roof‐Control Technology for Gob‐Side Entry Retaining Under Composite Roofs

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study develops a roof‐control technology system for gob‐side entry retaining under composite roofs. By integrating field measurements, theoretical analysis, and numerical simulation, it reveals the spatiotemporal evolution of the plastic zone and proposes a targeted support method, providing theoretical and practical guidance for safe and ...

First‐Principles Study of Novel A2CaTiH6 (A = Li, Na, K, Rb) Hydrides for Solid‐State Hydrogen Storage Applications

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
First‐principles investigation of A2CaTiH6 (A = Li, Na, K, Rb) hydrides reveals structural, electronic, mechanical, thermodynamic, and hydrogen storage properties. Negative formation energies confirm stability, while all compounds are metallic and mechanically stable. K2CaTiH6 and Rb2CaTiH6 are dynamically stable, with capacities of 2.28 wt.%–5.61 wt.%.

Optimization of Blasting‑Induced Roof Cutting Parameters in Key Stratum and Its Application in Gob‑Side Entry Retention Technology

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study addresses hard roof coal seam conditions by optimizing key stratum blasting‐cutting parameters through theoretical analysis, numerical simulation, and field tests. It proposes calculation methods for blast hole spacing and delay timing based on stress wave theory, controlling roadway deformation within 35 mm, thereby enhancing resource ...
