Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

A robust estimator for the intensity of the Poisson point process of extreme weather events
The article examines extreme temperature events defined as the exceedances of several high quantiles of temperature anomalies in regional climate model data over Germany as an example for the analysis of meteorological extremes using a two step ...

RIS-Assisted Terahertz Clustered HetNets: Coverage and Rate Analysis
Terahertz (THz) transmission technologies hold significant potential for enabling ultra-broadband in next-generation networks. Despite the vast bandwidth offered by the THz, it faces significant challenges stemming from its limited transmission range.

Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Poisson approximation for some point processes in reliability [PDF]
In this paper, we consider a failure point process related to the Markovian arrival process defined by Neuts. We show that it converges in distribution to a homogeneous Poisson process. This convergence takes place in the context of rare occurrences of failures.

Coverage Analysis for UAV-Assisted mmWave Cellular Networks Using Poisson Hole Process
To reduce strong mutual interference between unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and ground base stations (GBSs) and to balance the quality of service (QoS) of cell-center and cell-edge users, in UAV-assisted millimeter wave (mmWave) cellular networks we let

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

ABSTRACT Objective In multiple sclerosis, the optimal time for deploying a therapeutic intervention is before the central nervous system is damaged; given the success of trials treating the earliest stage of MS, the radiologically isolated syndrome, developing primary prevention strategies is an important next challenge.
