Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Reverse Convolutional Precoding of Polar Codes: Design, Analysis, and Decoding Algorithms

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society
Convolutionally precoded polar codes known as polarization-adjusted convolutional (PAC) codes are a promising variant of polar codes for short block lengths.

Scaling Exponent and Moderate Deviations Asymptotics of Polar Codes for the AWGN Channel

open access: yes, 2017
This paper investigates polar codes for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel. The scaling exponent $\mu$ of polar codes for a memoryless channel $q_{Y|X}$ with capacity $I(q_{Y|X})$ characterizes the closest gap between the capacity and non ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Scaling Analysis of Multilevel Polar Coded Modulation

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
In this paper, we analyze and prove the capacity-achieving property of the equivalent asymmetric channels of multilevel polar-coded modulation in view of the scaling assuming regime, which employ some techniques of symmetric channels.

A Hybrid ARQ Scheme Based on Polar Codes

open access: yes, 2013
A hybrid automatic repeat request (HARQ) scheme based on a novel class of rate-compatible polar (\mbox{RCP}) codes are proposed. The RCP codes are constructed by performing punctures and repetitions on the conventional polar codes.

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Strong Coordination with Polar Codes

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper, we design explicit codes for strong coordination in two-node networks. Specifically, we consider a two-node network in which the action imposed by nature is binary and uniform, and the action to coordinate is obtained via a symmetric ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Blind Detection with Polar Codes

open access: yes, 2017
In blind detection, a set of candidates has to be decoded within a strict time constraint, to identify which transmissions are directed at the user equipment.
